World Cup WWC semi final Australia V England

What a good finish, "top bins" as the youth say these days...
 
Australia 🇦🇺 playing the counter and looking decent at their model. But if you sit that deep and invite pressure against russo and hemp you’re asking for chances to happen

Ps small tactical frustration. Our wide center backs always sit too close and too flat to Millie bright when we have possession . Stretch the field and space out the Aussies to give Stanway and Walsh more room

It's just part of the conversation. Why get so defensive ?

I have no problem watching a lot of woman's sport, golf in particular, so there's nothing sexist in my view. I just think woman's football is a really poor product. Get over labelling people as w****** just because they have an opinion that doesn't fit yours. That type of response says more about you than anything.

Bit like last night really. 1 up away from home, and playing very well. A deserved lead. What we need England to do is carry on as they are, and not try to shut up shop. There will be more chances coming our way second half.
 
Fun game, this. Australia press a few yards higher than most other sides and once England cottoned onto that and aimed to get the ball beyond the halfway line, they started to improve.

The strike from Toone was great. The goal opens the game up and as long as England don't allow themselves to be stretched (Australia are lightning at times) there will be chances to get another.

It's been his MO for years since he was baldy on the previous forum. A lot of the time when he's posting sensibly he speaks sense but he also has to try and wind people up, such as this thread or his differing views on Sam Smith winding Oxford fans up compared to Aaron Ramsdale doing the same on the back of a very positive anti homophobia article. Strange way to spend your life but there we are.

Not caught much of this game but from what I've seen we've been the better side, great finish for the goal as well.

I like to see lionesses get another goal (or two ) early doors in the second half - and put chances they've created away - there were a few squandered in the first half before Toone broke the deadlock
 
The commentary on optus sport in Oz is quite amusingly biased.
Every tackle gets a comment of the style of “well the English player really should not have use her face to hit Kerr’s knee”.

Well, that's wrong for a start. I've only ever been on here under my name. I genuinely cannot think of anything I've ever posted that I do not believe in. They are my views, some may be a bit outdated but at nearly 60 I'm unlikely to change.

Nobody is offended, just amazed you'd spend so much time telling how much you don't care and trying to get a 'bite'. Mentioning your age is just a lazy defence. Perhaps you'd be better off just ignoring, that's what most of us would do if genuinely not interested.
