I have now had a final decision, regarding my case against Middleton, from Cherwell DC. I'm still waiting for the OCC one to be concluded.

In a nutshell he's wriggled out of it! This may explain why he's suddenly feeling bolshie again on Nextdoor?

My case went all the way to a formal enquiry via a solicitor, and an independent advisor/observer. Both felt that his behaviour had breached the code of conduct, but it came down to deciding whether he was representing the council at the time. The solicitor felt that he wasn't (as Cherwell are not yet involved in the stadium, but will be when it goes to planning) although the advisor/observer felt he was. It came down to the solicitor over ruling the advisor/observer as he doesn't have the title Councillor in his Nextdoor profile, even though he constantly refers to it in his posts.

So, in short, he's escaped on a technicality! I hope the OCC decision is different, as they clearly ARE involved in the stadium, so that little loophole does not exist.

On a separate issue, I was catching up with stadium threads on Nextdoor last night and noticed a lot of posts replying to Victoria Campbell's posts, but VC's posts do not exist. Have they been deleted? Or has she deleted her account? Anyone know?

Thanks for the update and pursuing this. Surely, the OCC complaint can't be upheld on the same grounds so hopefully he'll face disciplinary action at some point soon.

For now. He's only got away with the first complaint on a technicality based on Colin's update. I hope he won't be excused for his actions when OCC conclude their own investigation.

@Colin B Vs the green councillor from Yarnton (not Kidlington), the rematch.

I favour our Colin for a knockout in the first.

He'll get his comeuppance, sooner or later, it will come. For people like him it always does. You can't keep upsetting so many people, so many times, and expect to get away with it.

Ian Middleton is clearly presenting himself as a district Councillor on Nextdoor where the comments were made so it's bizzare CDC have said he wasn't representing the council.

probably doing her deleted bit- or maybe someone has reported that she doesn't as claimed live in Kidlington, and shes been suspended ? ... which if it is true would be kinda ironic

More rubbish being spouted by the NIMBYs. The whole point of the survey is to assess how the club have met the criteria set out by the county council. As a commenter said, those questions are for planning stage.

Ffrench definitely appears to anti based on his choice of output. If it was about clickbait, he'd be doing both to engage/inflame both sides.

He certainly has been bolshy on Nextdoor. Again, a degree of contrition on his part may have come into it but he’s too narcissistic, ego-centric, contrarian and self important to consider keeping a low profile on a tinpot social media platform. He thinks himself a David versus the Goliath that is the rest of the council he is sitting on because he’s a Green councillor.

As you say, he’ll get his comeuppance. Like Vicky Campbell, he continues to misjudge that football fans (in many cases, supporters of different and rival clubs) are a community. Take on one and you take on them all. He’ll slip up again and too many strikes against your name and he will be out. He’s too egotistical to keep his trap shut.

Ffrench doesn't give two fucks either way. The only thing that matters to him and the OM management) is clicks and that's exactly what anti stadium headlines will get him. Must be a horrible way to finish his career this way when he probably started it with good intentions.
