Has he not invited you to the training ground to see how much work he does 24/7/365?

Also thought he’d share with you his full report into the running of the club re; lessons learnt (not) etc! Odd!
We've had our day out and look what happened! We all, well nearly all, had a whinge, I got told off and, apparently, displayed no sense of humour and, all those tales of blow up dummy's etc were not recognised as ever having happened.
Is it any wonder we have not been invited back?

Er, not yet.

Bakrie came over a week or so after this poll was made, which I was asked to not mention, and didn’t want to engage with fans even in the form of an iFollow piece. Ferguson was here for an entire fortnight recently and hid himself away, including the club not wanting photos published showing him at the end of season awards. Most of the board was here for Accrington before disappearing without a word.

The OUSP head went on BBC Radio Oxford a few weeks ago and spoke of their frustration of assurances from the club being broken that a forum would be held. OxVox also claim to have offered to hold a forum for the club to attend if they weren’t going to arrange their own. Nothing. Unless you count Ferguson’s little puff piece on the radio, where he basically shrugged and called everybody a hindsight merchant before swanning off.

You learn the most about people when things aren’t going well, rather than the other way around. The lack of accountability and leadership shown by the CEO and Chairman this season has been atrocious. They have shown that they have no respect for the fans - sorry, Tim, “customers” - and can’t even be bothered to turn up and yawn their way through something that they themselves assured the club’s own panel would take place. They were the ones who said it would happen, nobody else.

I dare say that they won’t show their faces until they’ve got good news to hide behind. Happy for everybody to keep buying their season tickets and plugging away on the stadium in the meantime, mind.

Welcome to the ways of a Top 30 club. Sit down and shut up.
That is abysmal. I genuinely worry about the future of our club with these individuals involved.

lack of communication, despite assertions to the contrary at the AGM , is yet another failing from of the pair of billy bullshitters. NO communication whatsoever regarding the surcharge imposed on STs- and very probably each and every individual matchday ticket too?

the club must've known about this coming in well in advance, but their lack of communication about it ( neither OxVox nor OUSP were informed or consulted nevermind the supporters) , and Im positive they knew about this coming in a while ago, it absolutely stinks IMO

its them both showing contempt for the very much taken-for-granted supporters

Not only the ticket surcharge it is yet again £10 for a season ticket card if you would rather have a physical ticket. To find this out you have to go through the FAQ which seems that it would be wise for anyone to do incase there is anything else hidden in there.

No charge from next season if you reload that ticket though at least. But still....

that too ..... and oh yes, I would rather have a physical card , as I did and was fleeced paid £10 extra for the privilege last season too

From the latest OxVox update:

As part of the conversation on communication we again asked when the club would be holding a fans forum. In truth we do not think these are a cure for all communication issues but regular forums at accessible venues and times would make a big difference. Best practice would point towards a minimum of two a year with many clubs doing more. We were disappointed to learn that no forum date had yet been pencilled in but Grant suggested it was on the agenda

So that’s a firm “stick it up your arses”, then.

Also:

It’s important to address some of the issues from last season but not to get bogged down with them. The reset has been made. There is now a huge rebuild to undertake on the field. Off the field we need to build on the some of the great work that has been done. Let’s learn from our mistakes but not let them define us.”

Exactly as I suspected. The Chuckle Brothers get to hide away, then use the likes of OxVox to pivot to a position of telling people to move on and let it go, otherwise they’re the problem. Even though they’ve broken their own promises on communication and can’t bring themselves to publicly explain themselves and their shoddy performance that nearly got us relegated. Which might still mean that next season sees us underperforming again, by the way. The equivalent of telling someone they have to forgive you for something you’ve done wrong, then refusing to even offer a half-hearted apology while telling them it’s on them if they don’t swallow your shoulder shrugs.

Enjoy your summer, lads. A job well done.

£2.50 surcharge on ST renewals on line ( & on the phone?) that they couldnt be arsed to inform OxVox or OUSP about - they talk loud and say nothing

Genuine question:
Do you really believe that a fans forum held now, would change the direction of the club ?
The board clearly still have faith in GF and TW.
The board are still behind the new stadium project.
They’ve already admitted last season was not good enough and appointed a new coaching team.
It’s approx 11 weeks until next season starts.
By then we’ll hopefully see the future shape of our squad.
By the end of Sept we should know the decision off OCC regarding the lease on The Triangle.
So a FF in October ?

I believe it’s important that people stick to their word @LowerSouth. Nothing else. They made a promise to their own fan bodies that they would hold an open forum by or around now and they’ve reneged on it, because they don’t want to sit in front of people and take any criticism or answer any difficult questions directly. They offered it up; nobody put a gun to their head.

It’s not a good reflection of them. If they want to talk about moving on, they should have done the right thing and put it to bed themselves. Not by pointing at other people and saying it’s on them. Respect is earned.

I know I'll get shot down for it, but how many of the 10,000 home fans that turned up to the Accrington game actually want a fans forum?

150 voted on here, but this forum only represents a pretty small proportion of the wider fan base, and those that would actually attend would be far fewer.

Personally, I'd like a fans forum, but not to point the figure at people but to find out what the plans are moving forward. I'm sure others want their pound of flesh, which is fine but there's only so much you can get from that when the response is almost certainly going to be "we're sorry, we've learnt, we're listening, we'll make things right". Especially when those wanting to hold them to account won't believe a word they say.

Maybe on reflection having a forum when there is more information about the stadium, there are some real changes behind the scenes, and we can see how our recruitment is going.

But it's only an opinion, and I'm sure I'll be told that I'm not a real fan etc!!

I tend to agree.
While it isn’t good at all that they have gone back on their word, I’d say the time has passed now to go back and try and get answers for last season. We all know Robinson wasn’t sacked soon enough and we all know the summer transfer window wasn’t good.
I actually tend to agree with the board when they say there is no point dwelling on the past and for us to progress we need to look forward.
Now is the time to fully get behind Manning and Hoggy and hope for a much better season (which I think we will have).

As you say SE, whatever the CEO or Chairman say at this point people will take issue with it so I guess they have realised this and decided to just try and get on with the task in hard.

The proof will very much be in the pudding though and my word they have a lot to do on and off the pitch to do to convince some of us that they know what they are doing.

Scotchers, we're not all itk like you. Some of us would like to hear directly from the club as to what measures have been put in place to ensure last season's debacle is not repeated. If we were all as well connected as you I'm sure we'd all be a lot more confident going into the summer, but unfortunately the majority of the fan base have to make do with what the club tells us, which, at present, is very little (unless you consider "yeah, probably could've acted sooner, lol" communication).

The reluctance to stage a fans' forum only reinforces the arm's length approach employed by Brent and Keenan to date.

I'm also sure that most want to SEE that we're not making the same mistakes rather than just hear from those that many don't believe.

What I would say is that it is interesting no one has jumped all over the latest comments from Manning.
He has said he will learn from his mistakes at MK and the relegation fight here.
He has said we are already well under way with our recruitment.
He has said that he hopes to bring players in earlier rather than later.
