So they 2073 people who live in a village of 15,000 are against the building of a football stadium near by, if that’s all they can get out then it’s not exactly overwhelming opposition is it?
It says the electorate is about 10,000 so only around 20 percent of them don't want to support a stadium being built in Kidlington. In addition, the plan is for a stadium on the outside of Kidlington anyway.

I think the last bit is a key point, it’s not in Kidlington.

It sets a ridiculous precedent if 20% of a neighbouring settlement is enough to put the kybosh on something, 2000 people is enough to stop any thing being built. If Oxfordshire county council listens to them then they might as well put the shutters up and declare the county closed to business.

We took a third of the votes in a poll that was called before we even had the chance to put plans out to be discussed. The parish council themselves said it was premature. These polls always come down anti, especially early on, but supporters have done a great job of highlighting the positives and setting things up for proper, meaningful consultation. The club will listen to residents and work with them to address concerns and highlight the positives. This is actually a good platform to build from.

Time for some sleep.

So in round terms 20% of Kidlington residents against (not a majority of residents), 10% of residents actively for a proposal that hasn't yet been able to show the positives, and 70% either waiting to engage with planning application or don't really mind either way.

And thousands more across the county massively in favour

Correct, tonight's 80% should not be ignored.

Nor should the 80% who responded in favour last year.

Ah damn, 20% of Kidlington residents don’t want a stadium that’s not even in Kidlington. Spose we better give up now and ask Kassam really nicely if he’d accept £100m for his pile of breezeblocks.
