we have been seen as one of the best footballing sides in the division by other coaches & managers.
I'd take this with a very large pinch of salt, it's what they don't say that will be telling, I wager if you got them on their own and speaking honestly, they'd for sure say we can play some nice football, but a lot would also say how we can be quite easily broken through and our threats nullified, and that we have one way of winning.

Out of interest what were your thoughts on MApp and would you have him back? After all he only had 1 way of playing and his plan B was to do plan A better.

Most managers have their ‘blue print’ of playing football and over the last few seasons we have been seen as one of the best footballing sides in the division by other coaches & managers.

It will go unnoticed a lot of the time but we actually change formations a number of times throughout the game whether we are in or out of possession or how the game is going.
You will always have teams that will know how to combat that no matter what you try (Wycombe are good at doing this to teams).

You recruit players to play the way you want to play hence why Robinson likes getting quick wingers. You can’t recruit for all styles of play unfortunately. Even City struggle against teams that stick men behind the ball and hit it long, the difference is they have players who can create 1 bit of magic to eventually unlock a defence.

The only team so far to actually play us off the pitch is Ipswich and so they should be if you look at the players they have!

I’ll also point out that Robinson is also seen as a good coach within the game.
You're Leon Blackmore-Such and I claim my £5

You didn’t attend the Forest Green game when they battered us second half in November then? If you were, you’d agree they played us off the park and we were lucky to get a point.

I watched that game and yes we were poor but I’m not sure they ‘battered’ us. Ipswich played us off the park for 90 mins and the stats back that up with their 64% possession, 18 shots to our 9, their 13 corners to our 4.

The game Forest Green ‘battered’ us we had 54% possession, 19 shot to their 12 but they did have 8 corners to our 5. So while we did play poorly in that game I wouldn’t say we got played off the park.

In the second half? Really?

I've yet to meet a non-Oxford fan who doesn't think KR is a total bellend.

That 2nd half mauling where FGR had five shots. You do like to dress things up a certain way!
Come on, Eastwood made a wonder save to keep us in it before half time and in that second half they should have beaten us comfortably. We were shocking.
But to get balance ,which I’m trying to do this year in all aspects of life,we should have beaten Sheffield Weds comfortably but for a shocking miss and a shocking penalty we were much the better side.
Let’s hope for more consistency in our play this year, more of the first half v Charlton would be great

That’s understandable considering how he is on the touch line, he gets under people’s skin but that doesn’t have anything to do with the point that within the game he is seen as a good coach.

I’d suggest one runners up medal in 14/15 in 700 games of management would suggest otherwise.

Can’t argue with them facts. Average at best over ‘good’.

Safe pair of hands in the third tier of English football.

Let’s not get things twisted.

Steve
I think a good manager is one who constantly gets things right with one club over a period of years
Best examples Ferguson Venger etc
But for me the even better managers are the ones who have success with a number of different clubs
Guardiola , Klopp as an example
In the lower leagues look no further than Chris Wilder who not only got us promoted but saved Northampton from relegation then got them promoted and then got Sheff United promoted from League 1 to the Premiership where they held their own with several players including Lundsram and Baldock who played in League 1.
That is a good manager and how some people on here compare him with KR is beyond me.
KR’s track record does not say he is a good manager promotion wise.
But for balance he has done good things and when we play well we are a joy to watch let’s hope we go on an outstanding run,get into the playoffs and get promoted. People will view KR differently then I suspect

To add balance Wednesday could have won that game just as easily as us if they hadn’t been so shot shy.
