EPL Chelsea handed over to trustees

There is no way Chelsea will get liquidated not 1 little chance of it happening btw if it does I will be as happy as the next person
No they won’t go under they’re not L1/2 clubs having to look over there shoulders m, listening to the Chelsea idiots last night singing Abramovich very cringe worthy.

Wonder if its too much to hope that the powers that be in football will be revising and improving their 'fit and proper' person check list ..... doubtful isnt it

I think the club could be sold, but the money wouldn't go to the Kremlin apologist
Yes, from this not particularly clear article the club could be sold but he can't sell it.

The truth probably is that because this is new territory no one knows for sure until an action (eg sale) has been allowed.

Was going to make that very point.

I guess it has the potential to get even more confused if tit-for-tat asset seizing starts.

A state-owned Chelsea FC?

Just seen they're not allowed to sell any more merchandise, and the club shop has had to shut down.

Where will John Terry go for his full kit if another photo opportunity arises?

Apparently he can sell as long as he doesn't gain from th sale so effectively he can sell but he wouldn't make a penny

It would require the Govt giving permission so the sale could go ahead but the sale proceeds would be frozen. If Russia nationalises foreign owned assets (of the companies that stop trading etc in Russia) then Russian assets should be seized, rather than just frozen, across the West in a mirror policy and this money would be part of that.

it has been mentioned, though the owners of Newcastle and Man City won't be backing it. Will only get teeth if independent football regulator is imposed and they actually have teeth.

10 reasons to hate Chelsea. I'm sure there's many more though.

1. The way they treated Claudio Ranieri when Abrahmovic took the helm, when he was doing a perfectly good job.
2. Jose Mourinho - Prick - No explanation needed
3. Yob fans forcing referee Anders Frisk to retire with death threats - at the time he was 2nd best ref in the world behind Collina
4. Keeping John Terry on as captain despite racially abusing Patrice Evra
5. Keeping John Terry on as captain despite shagging a team-mate's missus.
6. Publicly branding Mark Clattenberg a racist just because a few decisions in a match didn't go their way. If he's made racist comments, it should reported to the FA, not the kangaroo court that is the tabloids.
7. Diego Costa - See point 2
8. Cashley Cole tapping up incident
9. Treatment of their physio Eva Carniero by Mourinho (who else), and the club's failure to deal with it properly.
10. Chanting Abrahmovic's name rather than observing a minute's applause for the victims of Ukraine.

What happens with the loan players out with other league clubs? I haven't seen anything mentioned about this. Presumably there are monthly payments made by the clubs to Chelsea for these players. But I guess Chelsea are no longer allowed to receive the money for these? These clubs will become Chelsea's unpaid debtors, but who, what, when and how do they pay Chelsea? And what happens to the Chelsea players if the monthly insurance premium can't be paid if the money is all used up, and Chelsea's debtors can't pay them to replenish the short term funds to make payments such as these because they are not allowed to under the sanctions imposed?

Going forward to next season if Chelsea are still in existence and under the same sanctions, they will have a squad of 80 players on the training pitch since they can no longer loan out 40-50 of them any more. All under contract, 80 players on the payroll with no contribution coming from loan fees or wages percentages from other clubs who would otherwise take them on loan. Can't see how they get out of this one. It could happen to almost every club in the land if the owner just walked away or was forced away, but Chelsea must be an extreme case to plug the financial hole that has been left.

That was Luis Suarez, I think you're thinking of Anton Ferdinand
