The atmosphere is a makos issue. Marketing the club is best done through good atmosphere.

The club should be all over this problem

I watched McGuane for quite a lot of the match, not once when we lost the ball did I see him chase back, jog yes, run no, I have no idea if that’s what he was told to do but it infuriated all of us upstairs in the SSU around me. He might be better going forward, but going back he is not for me.

Speed is of the essence, Winnal can’t spell speed let alone show it, nor Dan the man, time to ship them out.
Shipping out Winnall on his presumably decent wages is a near-impossible task

Anyone know why the 4th official came on the pitch after the goal?

Yes, other than good stats to go on which obviously clubs will have on regular penalty takers to guide keepers, keepers will gamble. If you wait to see where the taker has put the ball, it's often too late to save it!
Disagree.
Two main principles: angle of run up and placement of standing foot. From there, barring one or two potential negative effects of trying to disguise one or both those two principles, I will know which side that ball is going and I’ll wait until the ball is struck before committing. Did I save every penalty? No. Did I go the right way more often than not? Absolutely.
Nowadays if someone like Jorginho at Chelsea wants to P**s about with his run up and wait for me to commit I’ll wait thanks, because him hitting that ball from an almost standing position because he’s waiting for me to dive is far harder than from a run up so he’ll need a clean strike.
Amazes me how keepers at any level obviously dive with no idea where the ball’s going.

What are you doing you stupid little w****r. Is this what you live for? You’re know more than what’s on the bottom of my shoe when I’ve trod in the dark…….now be a good little boy and jog on.
Take it easy Bazzer. This place is always a little edgy after a bad result. If we win against Lincoln all will seem right in the world again!

Yes, angle of run up used to be something keepers paid particular focus on but modern penalty takers are well versed in going anywhere in the goal, however they run up. Occasionally you see a player where it is really obvious but not that often. Yes angle of the foot is something I've heard keepers talk about but again penalty takers are well versed in disguising where they are going to put the ball (the expression sent the keeper the wrong way) and a keeper has a split second to see the angle of the foot etc. I'm sure you are right and unlike the multitude of top international keepers Jorginho comes up against, you would go the right way and save the majority of his penalties!!!

What people are forgetting is good penalty takers, when going down the middle, make it seem like they are about to slot it in one of the corners, hence why the keeper dives. Taylor clearly didn’t do that.

Meh, that was pretty horrible. I was actually pleased with a point in the end as in recent years we’ve lost that sort of game on bank holidays against the likes of Southend. Their game plan worked, if getting big blokes to block everything and forget football is a game plan. We’d still have won if our leading scorer had taken a penalty at decent non league level. We move on, if you can’t take a setback you shouldn’t be a football fan (haven’t looked but I bet there’s some epic whinging. Robbo out!).

Hard match , plenty of pressing and niggles from Cheltenham but as said above if a decent penalty and the other chances had been taken as well as the foul for their goal ( the actual goalscorer throws down Cam Bran ) being given a completely different result.
Full backs and midfield not on form along with Matty .
Need to keep Whyte for the season and add another forward to give Matty a rest .
McGuane getting unfair stick I feel , he doesn't have an all action style but produced some sublime moments today .

We worked incredibly hard on Wednesday and seemed flat today. I said after five minutes that we were going to struggle, we’re not good at dealing with that sort of team, going back to Appleton’s time.

I know mate but don't get too reeled in, always going to be some frustration after a loss. We were abysmal today but brilliant against AFCW, 4 points from those two games is OK. Lincoln is a big big game.
They’re all big games, we’ll win and lose unexpectedly. I wonder if people are starting to expect the predictability of the PL?

We've been pretty consistent of late, the blip against Wigan was expected as we were down to bare bones and we still got a draw today. We have the momentum still (I hope) despite today.
