Away Match Day Thread 13/11/2021 L1: Ipswich Town v OUFC

I think they are forgetting the 1st half where we played some lovely stuff and controlled the game, limiting them to counter attacks!
That’s what it sounded like to me but not what there fans saw apparently….they’re such a bunch of cry babies who think they’re to good for this league.

The crying by the Ipswich fans (bar the odd one) is tremendous. I think a number of them forgot we are above them as well.
Especially watching the two of them talking…..I wondered who or what the boy with the hat on was doing?

Ok so my accy didn’t come in because of us but I’m well happy. Had us down to win but. Strangely I don’t care great point at a very good Ipswich side. Got a good feeling about this season, didn’t have it last season. Thank f**k for spell checker. Bottle of rum not good for posting on here lol..COYY. ( taken me an hour to type this ) take note Bazzer not blaming fat fingers lol.

Think a lot of us our shocked by the comments from Ipswich fans because we've not been getting them before as we've always been too nice to play against!

Can I just say some of the comments outside the ground were laughable. Not sure if there was any trouble as we moved on pretty quickly, but my word you would have thought there had been some kind of assault committed against one of their players 🤣

They haven't played High Wycombe yet, but I would suggest getting ready for the ball not spending any longer than 20 seconds in play at a time.

A raggedy bunch of spotty teenagers decked in blue came up to us as we walked out of the ground and croaked out a whingy little medley of ‘boring boring oxford’ and then ran off. I had to smile.

Ipswich is a good away day out. There’s a bit of a Life on Mars vibe going on. You expected to see kids on chopper bikes outside the ground, Wagon Wheels on sale in the food bar and Izal toilet paper in the bogs.

Best 0-0 I’ve been at in a long while. Some superb time wasting by Kane and Taylor. Not convinced Taylor was actually injured.

Not his greatest fan but Seddon was very accomplished today , pick of a very decent back 4.

Ipswich will be top 6 easy on that showing. So will we.

COYY.

Wow Quest was all Ipswich.
They had shots from outside the box that went close but we got into better positions and didn't shoot! Was a very tight game and draw fair result.

If you went to today’s game then your pathetic and you were sat on your hands all game , just another quote about our support today on their forum .
Hope they stay down in these league for a long time

Enjoyed the game as did my neutral son in law. We were in the ascendancy first half though they hit the post twice. Seemed like a couple of pen shouts but too far away to be sure. The old Easty is back. I felt Moore, Thornily, Seddon, Kane, Taylor and Sykes all excelled with. Brannagan just being Brannagan without especially excelling today. In fact nobody was poor though Henry was maybe quiet and we got to see a cameo of the McGuane we saw before his injury. Felt we hit too many long balls second half but still created half chances. Deserved and valuable point. It seemed way more than 992 Oxford fans and the noise was as usual impressive.

With comments on their forum and on FB the tractor boys must be the most bitterest we have come across in quite a few years, can’t wait for Wycombe to employ their dark arts and their forum and podcast going into further meltdown.

The second half showed why we don't just need a backup to Taylor, but also an alternative. He's great at holding it up for his size, but we could really do with a more physical presence up front when being pressed like that. Too many times we'd hit it long and it wouldn't stick.

Ipswich offered nothing. They hit the post twice out of nothing. They were quick on the counter attack but quickly mucked it up. We smashed the first half but I’m glad we frustrated them i the second because it shows we’ve got that in our armoury now.
