General Ivo Pekalski

I met and briefly spoke to Ivo. IMO he was is a very odd character.

Why was that?

Destined for infamy as a player who we signed for a fee and never played a minute, probably the only player in our history that has managed that, and I doubt it will ever happen again.

What about Paul Evans as well. Full Welsh international, lots of experience, another one whose "legs had gone".

Anyone else for the "legs have gone" eleven? i.e. good player but all of a sudden drops off a cliff...Paul McCarthy is one that springs to mind, completely forgotten that he passed away last year.

Brian Howard and Jamie Ashdown were both random Appleton signings who didn't do much, or play much

Lewis Montrose I seem to remember people were quite excited about in his first couple of games...

Brian Howard - feels like a lifetime ago already.

That’s a good category - Oxford as their last (or nearly last) professional club XI.

Step forward Paul McLaren, Dave Kitson, Rufus Brevett, Gavin Johnson, Paul Shaw, Chris Whyte and, of course, Mike Salmon.

And probably Williamson. Would it be harsh to add Gilchrist mkII with Jim mkII as manager..? Maybe OUFC legends should be exempt as they’re just taking a final bow and saying goodbye to the fans

Andy bloody Burgess
The only thought process of the person was him blasting over the bar from 6 yards at Wrexham.

You are getting confused. "Legs and Co" was the name of the dance troop, but there were often only 3 or 4, they never danced to Cliff but lots to McCartney who can't sing any more but isn't dead yet. Great stuff and happy to clear that up.

Ivo ‘the ghost’ Pekalski makes all of the above mentioned players look like Ryan Giggs, there are blokes who played 40 games being mentioned on here.

I doubt we will ever have a fee signing never play for us again, we can’t of had that many free signings stay nearly an entire season and not even make the bench. Considering the fee and the fact he was on a wage quite possibly our worst ever signing.

Kelleher who was also signed this summer also hasn’t played, but at least he has been out on loan and could still play potentially in the future, although add him and Pekalski to the released Williamson, Xemi and Tiendalli and you see what an awful summer we had, all kicked off by appointing the wrong man to replace in Appleton in Clotet, thank god we go into this transfer window with Robinson in position and our league one status just about in tact.

In fairness Kelleher was identified by MApp and brought here as 'one for the future'. Would like to see him given a shot as defensive cover.
