What have OxVox got to say...

And the info from Tiger?

Nothing substantive Myles.

We know that Tiger is not back in the UK until the last home game of the season and we'll be meeting him formally then. Emails and phone calls are 'ok', but face to face meetings will, we trust, reveal greater clarity for members.

We have invited Tiger to join us at the OxVox AGM on the 28th, but have not had his attendance confirmed as yet. If he is able the attend, it will be a very good opportunity for members to meet with him and talk about a range of subjects.

Appreciate the above is short on detail, but I hope it helps (a bit!).

Cheers

Jem

Thanks for the update Jem. It's obviously disappointing that Tiger doesn't appear to have put much in the way of meat on the bones so far. Having now seen the financials for his business in Thailand, I would have serious questions about his ability to fund the club himself.

Myles - at least youve managed to identify his business. thats more than i could do! Do you have any more details on it? He is also a director at Carabao isnt he, not sure whether thats executive or non-executive.

Hi Jem,
As a follow up hopefully ypu have some time booked with Tiger this weekend?

Several issues.

I realise in this modern era everyone expects instant gratification, but perhaps a little patience is needed too? 'OxVox' is not an individual, but a group of people who don't meet or hold discussions on a daily or even weekly basis. Maybe the 'putting things straight' statement is being worked on and will be released in timely fashion?

The OxVox committee meeting was on Friday. Not unreasonable that minutes may not be finalised and distributed until later this week, or perhaps next week. (EDIT - Apparently there was no meeting, nor was one ever planned. Happy to put that right. Makes criticism even more difficult to comprehend ....)

Then we get to your more contentious and unnecessarily accusatory comments. OxVox are not 'meant to be a supporters' trust', they ARE the only OUFC supporters' trust who work hard as volunteers, have to take negativity such as yours on the chin but get little appreciation in return.
Hear, hear.

I find at times people forget that volunteers give up their free time to help and always try to do the right thing, even if it doesn't happen or go as intended. My volunteering is a lot simpler than OxVox, but I'm in the position where I'm giving up because it's not become worth the grief anymore - lots of people want to back seat drive, no one wants to get in the front seat. The fact the OxVox committee so far have maintained the careful balance with DE and Tiger, shows they are doing the right job for OUFCs supporters.

You say the 'general ethos of the board is that they have neglected fans.' Absolute rubbish. A few posters have offered criticism. A whole bunch more have offered support. The vast majority have not commented one way or the other. Don't extrapolate your own frustrations to the general fan base. You have an unreasonable sense of entitlement.
Jems has a season ticket. Attend all Saturday games. Enough said. End of.

I understood from a good source that Carabao are Tigers financial backers. I am didn't know he was a director. 2+2=4? The company want to invest in a club but I am assuming cant do it directly though Red Bull have backed two Bundslegia clubs. How about Carabao Oxford? :)

Nope. As far as I can see, he's not a director of Carabao - neither the main Thai business, not the Intercarabao UK distributors. But he is associates with people who are involved in Carabao in one way or another.

I think it is becoming clear that Tiger, as himself, may not have the financial clout to take us forward but, someone, or some group, are very likely involved in providing the necessary.

This is puzzling to me because I cannot see any way that anybody could possibly profit from such an arrangement.

How would u say it’s becoming clear ?

How would u say it’s becoming clear ?

The lack of any substantial proof of income or existing finance. The companies that are visible do not generate the kind of finance required to progress in the manner that he has expressed. I would like to think that he has profit coming from his involvement with the Reading FC set up but that is not visible.

I desperately want him to be the financial source required but, I remain a sceptimist.

You don’t spend money on things like the academy if u don’t have any. And u don’t only get money from business income. Do U know he’s never inherited any for example ? Did darryls business generate the income to the levels that u would have been not worried at the start? Do we know tiger hasn’t set aside a pot of say £10m the same as Darryl did? Or got promises of larger investment ? To say it’s becoming clear just isnt true for me, there is hardly any evidence that he does or doesn’t have the money, other that he is already investing pretty heavily in club infrastructure like training ground, academy and marketing

One of the newspaper articles I read said he was (and they are/were obviously involved at Reading).

However looking on their website I cant see him in the list - for the group anyway.

The business acumen of DE is a different kettle of fish altogether. He is an experienced and adept manipulator of the finance world. A proven track record of inter-related companies all lending and borrowing from each other. Just look at the set up of Ensco, Alycidon etc.

As to the level of investment by Tiger, how much has he actually put in? Do we know? The real test will come in the next couple of months as the transfer market beckons. KR has targets, not cheap ones I'd wager. The U23 squad will need funding and capital will be required. Remember, Ensco1070 as DE's holding company have first say over any incoming transfer fees outstanding from past deals. All OUFC Ltd. will have is the income from season ticket sales. Tiger is going to have to underwrite quite a bit of spending.

I'm not saying he hasn't got it but, the visible, tangible finance does not show the amounts required. Further backing will be required.

If Ensco as DE's holding company have first say over any incoming transfer fees outstanding from past deals, does that mean they also have first say over any ‘paying off’ contracted players from past deals??

But hasn’t this always been the case? Hence the massive beware of the tiger thread about his associates. Im still not sure if we’re being told to worry we have no money and can’t afford to pay tax bills or if we have loads of money and we should all be worried where it’s coming from. Surely can’t be both!!

Like I’ve always said u can only judge him on what he does.

So far the list is pretty impressive

Dickie and branagan
And bids for Cole and Moore- before he even owned the club.

Better club communication
Ticket offers
Ox4life instant improvements
Marketing
Improving merchandise
Is it 7 new academy coaches now?
Recruitment of local talent to academy
An under 23 side.
The paying off of pekalski
Karl Robinson

And all this from Thailand

Well Dave you are now in the position to ask the questions direct to Tiger. I would like to see you step forward and become the new Chairman of Oxvox as you certainly have the right credentials having read your posts. Step forward Dave T Chairman of Oxvox the Supporters Trust.

At a time when some of the doubters were 'threatening' to put themselves up for election, you continually mocked Dave about his posting and whether he would step up to the plate.

He did so, when you and the other vocal posters did not. To now maintain the childish stance about whether or not he stands for chair is pathetic - particularly ahead of an open meeting where anyone can ask the questions themselves.
