Appleton would be a good shout I think wilder could go in there and fix the job this season and maybe take them up next season that’s what he does isn’t itWilder has been tipped for it as has John Terry. Some of their fans seem to want Appleton.

Yes success is simple, just employ a good manager who can get the best out of what resources you have, like Nathan Jones or Gareth Ainsworth. However there don't seem to be as many of those around as you'd expect. I always think of Forest and Bristol Rovers when people throw their toys out of the pram with KR because we haven't won a match.Forest are a club with clout but they have been in the doldrums for years.
Let’s not forget that Nottingham Forest have won the European cup and that alone separates them from most.
They just cannot seem to find the right formula to bring back success.
Dodgy owners? Bad managers? Flaky players? A little bit of all of those things have contributed to their more recent history.
However, They are not the only club who are underachieving. All for the same reasons as them.
Success is not a given. It is often fleeting and hard to maintain.
Just as Forest fans bemoan their plight… I would advise them ( and anyone) to take a look at the teams now plying their trade in the National league right now.
Many that consider themselves to be stalwarts of the 92.
… and then we have Bury
Nottingham Forest may well be a sleeping giant, but they are not the only ones.
Careful now, you are wandering into scotchers’ territory there!I always think of Forest and Bristol Rovers when people throw their toys out of the pram with KR because we haven't won a match.

Steady on. But stability is a good thing and success never guaranteed.Careful now, you are wandering into scotchers’ territory there!
Totally agree on that, it is a brick overcoat for sure but the very fact that their historic success casts such a long shadow, makes me believe that they may, one day get it right with a suitable appointment and a little patience. The thing with being Forest manager is it’s got an impossible legacy, a title and back to back European cups is so wildly overachieving for them that it skews what is actual success for a club. Makes Clough’s achievements there look even more remarkable, doubt we will ever see his like again.
