Home Match Day Thread +++ 29/02/20 OUFC V Southend Utd +++

It’s important not to be complacent, and take this game for granted. I’m sure KR and the players will try to be as professional as ever, and do what’s required to get an important three points. We win this tomorrow, then we could be well and truly back in the mix. With Shrewsbury and MK Dons to follow it’s a massive chance to put increasing pressure on the teams above and around us. Let’s get them talking “oh god Oxford are coming”.

Prediction for tomorrow 3-0
Taylor x2 and Browne.

Anyone else think this could be P-P ??
I dont, ....the pitch at the breeze block drains well, rain due to have passed by 1pm tomorrow ... if it can go from unplayable to game on in 15 min ( ipswich at home a few weeks or so ago) itll be fine after 2 hours Idve thought.... will the pitch get an extra watering before kick though?

Long Dickie Moore Atkinson
Sykes Gorrin Brannagan
Henry Taylor Agyei

Think it might be a good idea to give Ruffels his first game off in a long time, and ease Atkinson in if he's going to be covering Moore soon, against the weakest team we'll play for a while.

2-0, Brannagan + Henry

You can't help but feel this is the absolutely ideal fixture for the end of what has been a bit of a topsy-turvy week - should be a nice comfortable win to put smiles on everyone's faces and wipe away thoughts of Blackpool and glowering Dutch centre halves.

I do see some logic in giving the likes of Taylor a rest, but I also think that it's worth keeping the same core starting XI and keeping this momentum rolling. I also think I'm right in saying we have no more Tuesday fixtures, so there's plenty of time to now recover between games. Henry and Taylor have to start, if we are going to make anything tangible of this business end of the season it will be because of their partnership, so keeping that ticking over is essential. It might be nice to see Sykes get a proper run out, too - perhaps alongside CB in CM, and resting Browne?

If we were to win, you'd have to say we've done pretty bloody well to come through what has been a hectic February, with a half-fit squad for most of it, in some style - 13 points from 7 league games so far, as well as taking a Prem team to ET. For a month everyone said would make or (in all likelihood) break our season, that's really not bad.

Can Atkinson play left back?

a solid 3-0 with plenty of entertainment, we will have to work hard though. I'm a little concerned we are coming up against one of world football's greatest brains, but I think we'll have enough to win comfortably.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

A tight hard fought 2.1 win for the U's, hope I am wrong and we smash em!

Move the ball as we have done recently and there are goals aplenty in this for us.
‘Hard on them and stick it to em’ in true birdio stylee!
4-0 Browne at the double.
