Anyone know if there’s a sell on or promotion bonus etc?
I don’t think they want us to know!Let's say Cardiff wanted to pay £1.5m and we wanted £4m. Both clubs agree on £2.5m but no one wants to lose face so the final figure is undisclosed and both clubs go away fairly happy.
I am canterburyexile but tho I am not unhappy with the sentiments I most certainly did not post it. A mysteryThis is the reality of where we are.
100k to 2 mil with hopefully some add ons. In a year.
That’s exactly the kind of business we need to be doing every season.
It’s a bit depressing when it happens, but hopefully it gives us a bit to reinvest and highlights the club as a viable option for talented players to use as a shop window.
ZI've heard £2.5m plus add ons. Very very unofficial mind as I'd also heard that the sell on was 20% rather than the 10% now suggested.
I see all your points, but when Kemar Roofe had the chance to leave in January, he turned it down, as he wanted to repay the faith we'd shown in him and help us through the rest of the season, he then got an even better move, and I didn't have a problem with that at all, I was grateful for all he'd done for us, and the loyalty he'd shown, and wished him well for the rest of his career.
I just feel that Whyte could've treated us better, after all we've done for him, as he still would've got a big money move at the end of the season anyway, and probably to a much bigger club than Cardiff.
Sorry if people think I'm wrong, but thats just the way I feel, maybe I'm just feeling bitter about the whole thing, but after such a disastrous summer transfer window, who can blame me?
I just hope we manage to now plug the gaping holes all over our squad with some decent quality players, and we still manage to salvage a half decent season
fair pointReally can't get the people who are overly upset at Whyte leaving. Yes it is a little bit annoying, but the annoyance is really stemming from the fact that we're struggling to get people in. I always thought this window it would have been remarkable to keep hold of Eastwood, Dickie, Brannagan and Whyte, but knew it would be unlikely a summer window would go by without losing one of our assets. The way our model works is partly down to agreeing that players can use this club as a stepping stone. We've seen it with so many players for a number of years with the likes of Roofe, Lundstram, Ledson, Rothwell and Johnson, so why can't some fans get used to this by now?
Short term in for a quick buck, if we’d have kept him for another year then easily 5-6 millionA good profit for 12months...hopefully lots of sell ons.
On to the next one
Hmm. Neither of us know, but I suspect Roofe turned down a January move (can’t remember it tbh) because he a) thought we were going up, and that b) he thought a promotion would get him a bigger move. And he was right on both counts. Whyte, on the other hand, is playing for a club that now has little apparent ambition other than to scramble through the next payday. It’s a shame to see him, but who can blame him?I see all your points, but when Kemar Roofe had the chance to leave in January, he turned it down, as he wanted to repay the faith we'd shown in him and help us through the rest of the season, he then got an even better move, and I didn't have a problem with that at all, I was grateful for all he'd done for us, and the loyalty he'd shown, and wished him well for the rest of his career.

Even if its £2m we have been done. Didn't the club put a sale value on him of £4m (which I think is realistic) just a week ago?If true we’ve been roped off

I think it would have been accepted more if we had addressed the other priority positions (dare I mention them!).
