Another point worth noting is some loans players will be playing for teams higher up to make the numbers up in squads where players have been playing in the African Cup of Nations and the team is on tour at the moment.

Not if they're professional!!!

Centre backs need to know who to pick up at set pieces and whether to sit on or go out to cover for full backs etc. That can be picked up in a training session or 2. Centre forwards need to know whether they are playing on the last man's shoulder, sitting deep, holding play up, going long etc. An experienced player will be able to fit in very quickly.
By the sound of it you need to do all the recruiting.

@Scotchegg I can see from your posts that you don't like any criticism of the mighty yellows or KR. So you'll always try to put a positive SPIN on things and I admire that. But it simply has not been very quiet in league one this summer.

144 players signed so far and I suspect those in the top half are only looking for one or two more players. That means their squads are all but complete and they're working on the technical and personal. Looking at that table I would also say that Sunderland, Lincoln and maybe even Burton are not looking for many more given their squads from last season.

The fact is the club said they had learnt from the mistakes of last summer, the same as each time we had a court order they said it won't happen again! But all the evidence suggests that we're in exactly the same boat. I would argue there's more evidence to suggest something aint quite right than all is well.

I agree we have a solid core, perhaps stronger than the core we had last summer. But we're very very weak in depth. Take the kids out and our squad is worryingly low on numbers. Most if any of them are good enough to be thrown into league one for any period.

I actually don't think it's about when they sign more about the quality when they do. Too many of our signings last summer were absolute flops. And not even here anymore! Maybe that was because we chased and chased players who were out of our league and were left with the dross?

There is a lot of work to do and given last summer I can fully understand the fans concern right now.
No!!! You are wrong!!! I HAVE CONTACTS!!!!!

No one is denying concerns about recruitment, but it's about putting it into perspective. IF we signed Cadden, Evans and an experienced centre back on Monday then we'd look to have a very decent squad. IF we added to that with 3 or 4 loanees from higher up the pyramid then we'd look very strong.

It is about getting the right players in on the best possible deals, and that takes time. There becomes a point when you have to look at other targets, but we have to ensure we do everything possible to get the players that will take us to the next level.

I will make my judgements on the team that lines up against Sunderland and the squad that we have in September. I don't think either will disappoint.

The other day it was Ched Evans will be our North Country Boy - now its become an "if" ?

Don’t know if anyone else has paid for the QPR live stream but I think the commentators said Matt Smith is available for loan?
