I would love to see that calibre of player at the club, but we cannot compete with clubs these players end up at. By rights, with millionaires and billionaires on the board we should but, as it stands the club is a toy, to use as a brand.
Would love to be proved wrong,

Would love to be proved wrong, but summer 19 is mirroring summer 18.

If this happens I will join the pessimistic's. If it doesn't will you join the optimistic?

I think if Oxford are serious about promotion then our rich owners should go for Marc mcnulty of reading. He was a 28 goal a season man for Coventry a couple of years ago and now not wanted by reading who spent a million on him. He is a proven goal scorer who slotted 8 goals for hibs on loan 2nd half of last season. He could easily make us a few quid in a couple of successful years too.
Apparently on around 12 grand a week so unlikely even for our “rich” owners I would have thought.

The band wagon left in 2016.
What part of this is negative:

If it happens? Seems to me we are a way down the road, but the season doesn't kick off for another 6 weeks or so, plenty of time.

Sorry for having an opinion that doesn't scream my love for all things Oxford United.

We are a div 3 club , constrained even if the billionaires were throwing money in by fair play. We are attempting to buy some impressive players who obviously will have other suitors. Its always been that way for 90% of clubs

I still remember the saga when Danny Wilson was going to sign in the late 80's , £300,000 fee agreed , in the papers then after a few days delay he signs for Luton ?
I was gutted.

That story is from today, and still includes lines such as:

"And he could be joined at Kassam Stadium by out-of-contract Motherwell duo Chris Cadden and Alex Gorrin. "

We must have really swept under the radar with the completion of the Gorrin signing. It's not on the BBC Sport page for June Transfers either.

Absolutely no problem with us signing him. Proven innocent!

Wasn't innocent of hauling McMahon to the ground last season to grab himself an easy tap-in during our awful start.

I'll forgive him if he signs and does that to a few centre backs next year.
