I really hope that Oxford United do not pay a retained PR agency. To do so is entirely unnecessary when they have at their disposal a group on here who see only the positives and peddle them with such zeal.

Well done all, I hope you're appreciated by the owners.

I know! It's weird, isn't it?

Almost like we're supporting the club. And why wouldn't we be? Lest we forget, we're actually unbeaten in the league so far.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but when yours is the f*cking same day after day it does get a little tiresome.

I'm not the idiot here.
its no wonder dave and denissmithwig left the forum with the constant bullshit these emo retards come out with day after day. This thread could've saved about 170 pages if the dimwits didnt post.

Are you suggesting that I’m not, btf?

One can support the club (season ticket, as many subscriptions as possible, donations etc.) without being supportive of its strategy or behaviours.

There’s several reasons why people leave this forum Oxford84. Mark posts like this for my reason. This really isn’t an enjoyable place to spend time anymore

But your criticism is based on rumour, you dont know the full facts.

Ideally, I would like to see a new CB, a new RB (both permanent) and 2 new strikers (loans)

We obviously need a CB to play alongside Dickie, and I think we need a first choice specialist RB, which, as much as I admire his attitude and commitment, Long is not. To his credit, he did step up and performed well for the last part of the season, however, for an entire season at this level, he can only realistically be considered as decent backup at RB, and maybe CB in an emergency.

I think we should look to make both defensive signings permanents, so we can have a strong defensive unit for the foreseeable future.
It's important to get a strong, settled backline, and if thats where most of the remaining budget for this window needs to go, with the strikers then being loans, then so be it, as we can always prioritise strikers again in January, but without a strong, settled defence, regardless of who's up front, we'll struggle to win games.

It's blindingly obvious we need a couple of strikers though, and if Evans does come on a 6 month loan, then we need to make sure we get in an accomplished striker on a season long loan, with no recall option, otherwise when Evans leaves, if the other striker is recalled, we'll be back to square one, and panicking throughout the rest of January trying to replace both.

The squad is nearly there, and if we can just get these last few positions filled, with a settled defence, sharp frontline, to go with the obvious quality we have in midfield and out wide, I feel we could really have a good go this season.

You’ve no idea what I do or don’t know. Don’t be so presumptuous.

What we all know is that we’ve not assembled the squad we would all like. We also know that time, though not out, is short. As of today, we also know that the manager believes us to be behind other clubs in two out of three of our main targets.

Could it all work out? Yes, of course and I very much hope it does.

Unlike many on this forum, I am prepared to believe that it will not and I worry about the consequences. Truly, I wish I was as good a supporter as you. My life would have fewer dark clouds and more rainbow-unicorns in it. Count your blessings.

I will be pissed off once the window is shut and we cant buy any more players in.

You dont like the post?

I have to agree with yellowbow. I'm on your side of the positivity spectrum, but mean spirited posts are not the way to be going.

There's a big old civil war going on right now, when we all just want the best for the club.

I would have loved some more klaxons to have gone off by this point in the season. All the positive guys would have. I just think we're of the opinion that getting this upset on an internet forum doesn't help anything. I'd rather spend my time being excited at what could yet happen, than being upset and anxious about what might not.

I can't see any other club in this league having done such spectacular business in this window that their fans will be happy. Except for Posh, and we all know no matter how many players they bring in, they'll finish 9th regardless.

Tomorrow two new signings are being announced at the Training Ground. I don’t know the players names, but if you get down there around 11am your see who they are, before Medicals, and later being unveiled to the fans.

Wishful thinking eh. I do like to be positive!
