Might have done if QPR had accepted the bids from PL teams. Looks to be a sliding door moment in Rob’s career, especially now he is managed by Ainsworth.
I can tell you with absolute certainty that Ainsworth, who in spite of the terrible hair cut/dye and rocker look is a really decent bloke, does not rate Dickie.

Laugh all you like, but I bet in 3 years or sooner that lad will be in a top six premiership team.

That isn't exactly prophetic - he's potentially two games away. Beat Luton and maybe someone like Sheffield United 1-0 in first game in PL and there's a very good chance Coventry might be sitting in 6th or above as soon as 3 months time, never mind 3 years.

Do you think that's what he meant?

When I said a top six team, I meant with a team that’s currently in the top six, or what Sky like to say BIG SIX.

Agree 100%. He has the highest 'ceiling' of any defender we have had since Matt Elliott. And he will go further than Elliott because he has pace.
Mmm. Leicester came what Top 6 with Elliott in the team.
I agree that with his pace and potential, McNally could go higher than Dickie and Atkinson, but he has a lot to prove to go higher than Elliott

It’s hard to judge because in my opinion the premier league has improved drastically since those days.

Yanic is currently being punted around and and every league in Europe in the hope of getting rid of him. Nobody wants Murphy as he’s earning too much.

The board is currently not keen to pay off Baldock and he isn’t insured so can’t be retired on someone else’s dime. He’s got no incentive to walk away for anything less than 100% of his final year as he’s finished, so we either pay the lot or he stays here and limps about while completing his degree.

We’ve knocked back approaches for Stevens and are currently putting him through specialist physio for a shoulder issue.

Manning wants to sign 3/4 wing backs as he wants to switch to a back three if we can get the recruitment right, but we need to get a couple of players out first to free up the budget (Seddon as well as Yanic would help), given we also need a couple of strikers who are going to cost a decent wedge.

Believe or dismiss. Up to you.

A four year contract with a Championship side who pay £1 million wouldn't read badly on a balance sheet. There are far, far worse transfer dealings. He'd still represent a relatively low-risk investment. He's rarely injured, he's consistent and he will likely play into his 30's. Over a four year term, a £250k outlay plus wages per annum isn't bad. I'm surprised no mid-table side has come in for him to date.

That being said he offers significant security, he's an excellent player and he often pulls us out the other side when things aren't going well. Next season he could be crucial whether we are fighting relegation once more or fighting it out at the other end of the table. He's probably alongside Marcus Browne our only match winner.
But not when he’s playing a central defensive mid field role like he did/had to last season.
All depends on where he fits in with the way LM wants to set up next season. But in truth, given the money he’s on, we would probably be better off selling him to a Championship club and freeing up money to get us moving up the table next season.

The he should sue his agent for being negligent. If there’s one thing every professional footballer needs, even more than a wife, is career ending injury cover. What an idiot.
He was virtually uninsurable due to his past. Insurance is the club’s concern, not the player’s. He’s got a contract and is getting paid regardless unless he agrees to tear it up.
