That’s some take - Cheltenham, Port Vale and Burton Albion presumably too good for the French second tier. They’d be in PSG’s league.

He’s scored goals at a level below our Champs but above League One, and inevitably will have offers from steps above ours. Maja just as unrealistic as twine.
To respond with the likes of Dunkerque, Pau & Rodez, they would be fighting relegation from our League 2.

From following (at times closely) Ligue 1 & 2, I would realistically rate Ligue 1 with a combo of Prem & Champ. Ligue 2 with a blend of Champ, League 1 & 2. Due to average wages, budget & gate receipt. In addition, gems have been identify & obtained from Ligue 2. Yet, I’ve never heard or read from Chamionnat National.

Of course, yo-yo teams don’t back my findings well; Monaco, Auxerre & Saint-Etienne
Square root of this post is the free player recently relased by Bordeaux, Josh Maja.

Like all of us here, I’m gagging to see some successful transfers come our way & time to gel well.

I've just seen that Corbeanu and Nigel Lonwijk (who was at Plymouth last year) have been sent on loan to Switzerland so that one isn't happening.

Was Brown born a centre back then? In the same way Josh Ruffels was born a centre midfielder?
It was a joke based on your joke about discussing left backs.

For what it's worth my opinion is similar to @battman. Brown is a solid enough defender and I wouldn't be worried about him playing at left back as I would if, for example, Eastwood was in goal, but I'd far rather we signed a more specialist player there. Brown is capable of the odd foray or driving run into the opposition half but it's the sort of thing a proper left back might do 3 or 4 times a game rather than once every other, as well as providing some width on an overlap which isn't Brown's strength either.

I see that Josh Maja is being released by Bordeaux. Any chance we could be in for him after LM mentioned looking at France for a striker.

Derick Osei Yaw should never of let him go. He showed he could score goals

Sorry, jokes about Ciaron Brown are fine but don’t you dare joke about Steve Seddon

And if you don't have a proper left back and use Brown you can't really play 3 at the back unless you trust Negru to accompany Long & Thorniley ;)

As has been said before, it all depends on what sort of system we are playing. Rampaging full backs may not be needed depending on who's playing on the wing further forward, or alternatively you could have one going forward and one more defensive (so, Brown). Similarly the need for a DCM is different if playing four at the back or five. The absolute critical signing is a striker though, if money is saved on a LB or so on, then all the better.

With Seddon likely to go, or by many accounts just not being good enough, we definitely need a new LB. If we're going to play with full backs, Brown is nowhere near mobile enough for a role like that.

Brown was OOC wasn’t he, they were willing to offer him a new deal pending the result of his court case but he jumped ship to Bristol Rovers. They have however received a very decent fee for Archie Collins and will get decent compensation for Josh Key once his move is confirmed.
I may be mistaken about brown, however i don't see them letting both of their recognised strikers go for cheap

Josh Ruffels has signed a new 2 year contract at Huddersfield
