It's only like Whyte last season rejecting us because he thought he could do better.

Move on ,forget about it, plenty other players out there worthy of wearing the shirt.
I thought there were other reasons why he rejected us last season but could be wrong…

Steve let me get this right. Are you saying that you think we can do better than Gavin Whyte who is known to us, and we know what he can bring to the table. Whyte is proven himself at this level, and I’d say with Manning as manager he will develop and be a better player.

You also with another particular poster Scotchegg, defended KR until two weeks before he was finally sacked. A man that was absolutely clueless, and guiding us into league two, and a pattern was forming with that clown in charge.

You were questioning people last season who can we bring in better, and thought we be better off with what we had.

In my opinion Gavin Whyte needs a fresh challenge, and it clearly hasn’t worked out for him at Cardiff, but we made money, and I still think he has potential to make us even more money under this management team.
It depends which version you are getting. If we are getting the 1st Gavin Whyte then I’d say he would be a top top signing, if it’s the 2nd version which has been around since end of 2019 now then yes I do believe we can do better.

Not the one I was told, but people will get miffed if I mention it so I won’t bring it up 🤣

Let me guess it starts K and ends in an N. That could of been a big factor to be honest.

I think we would be stupid not to be interested in bringing him in permanently this season. Him , Rodrigues, Browne , Murphy and Goodrham battling it out for 2 or 3 places in the squad is very healthy.

This is exactly the point, for me. It’s what he adds to a squad that is flush with injury-plagued players with questionable consistency. Whyte is rarely below a 7/10, always fancies it in any weather, at any ground, in any position. There’s an argument to say that ‘better’ already exists within the squad. But will it turn up? That’s the point because when it doesn’t, who can we call on? The inexperience of Goodrham is your lot. The blend of players we have in these areas is not good and Whyte fixes a lot of that. And, as I’ve said, could move to RWB where I think he would excel in the right structure.

Agree with everything but not RWB. No square pegs in round holes this season.

Whyte at RWB? Is Robinson back??
It’s a bit less mental to move a winger there than it is to full back in a 4, especially for a side that expects the majority of the ball and intends to go forward. Plenty do it.

People were pretty enamoured with Ryan Williams in that role who was a bang average player, Whyte is far superior, but if you’ve got the pace, engine and enthusiasm for it, it just shows the transition is not that difficult.

Would I do it if Long was the centre back on his side? Not a chance. But I might if I had someone athletic there who can cover ground quickly and decent in possession.

If you’re a left back facing Murphy/Browne (critical detail - if they turn up) and Whyte going around the outside, you best set your stall out. You aren’t moving.

Thing is, how many actual specialist wing backs are there in the lower leagues? A lot are converted wingers or full backs. Weds play Marvin Robinson there.

I think, but don’t quote me on this, he has played there before. Not for us, though, and not sure how it went!

I genuinely can't ever remember Whyte tackling anyone, but he's a decent guy, knows the squad, so let's bring him in as a wing back!

I blame the heat!

I said you could - if needs be, in the right games. I think he has the tools. You don’t need to be a brilliant tackler in a back 5, just know where to be.

I’ve said from day one I’d go and get Tennai Watson there. But signing Whyte might reduce the need to go and get another one while also keeping our forwards honest. It would be smart business.
