Into the last over 8 required by Ireland off 5 balls

A lot more entertaining than the winner takes mega bucks Championship play off of final

5 runs needed off 3 balls

2nd from last ball win for Ireland O' Brian takes the glory.... fair play to Ireland .... England were poor bowling and fielding

Frustrating. But happy for Stirling, fantastic servant for Middlesex over the years, seen him take a fair few attacks apart when it clicks.

England had already won the mini series.

There eyes are firmly on the 3 match test series v Pakistan.

two different teams .... and although the odi series was won England dropped points towards qualifying for the odi world cup , sadly

Sadly due to the changes in player status for Irish players, he now plays as an overseas player for Northants. Tim Murtagh called time in order to stay in the County game too. Good win for Middlesex for them over the river today too!

Well done, Ireland. A much better contest. Better team on the day and made the most of a below par day for England. They happen from time to time. It’s important to not dwell on them. England lost to Scotland in 2018 and then won the world title a year later.

Too complacent from England today - early on and then around the 200 run mark, they thought they were better than Ireland and gave away their wickets too cheaply. Never underestimate the opposition.

Is the James Vince experiment finally over now? Makes Mark Ramprakash look proficient. There has to be a younger, or older player, around to give experience too than waiting him for him to nick off or get bowled.

From what I saw, England's performance summed up the series. Some bright moments, but some really sloppy ones too.

On too the Pakistan series. Gonna be a cracker!

Is Richard Levi still at Northants? That would be an opening pair that could do some serious damage, both to the opposition and to the buffet afterwards...

Pakistan win the toss, and bat. Stokes not fit enough to bowl, so England unchanged.

Should be a great contest, Pakistan are a dangerous side.

This season is now or never for Nick Gubbins. Good start to the season for him. He should be there or thereabouts.

Tom Banton is an opener so you could try him at 3.

If Pakistan can get a knock of 300 and stay at the crease all day, it would put this England test team under pressure, as they are known to struggle when batting second.... heres hoping Broad is still on top form

decentish bowling in the first 12 overs, with not a lot to show so far, couple of possible catch half chances missed

Pakistan 32-0

Archer replaces Broad in bowling attack
then its pause for drinks 14 overs in

34-0

Archerrrrrr .... first blood, & first wicket of this test series 36-1

rain stops play ( Well, it is Manchester ! ) ...albeit a brief break in play by the look of things

Reasonable first session that was ... ball doing a bit.... Pakistan 53-2 at lunch
