Ex Player Ryan Ledson

Is it just me or have we wandered off topic somewhat?
(post season forum content does tend to go off on unrelated tangents - roll on next season!)

Another twist in the tale.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6257117/preston-north-end-darnell-fisher-premier-league/

"Meanwhile, Preston remain confident of landing long-term target Ryan Ledson from Oxford United.
The midfielder's League One club rejected Preston's offers in January.
But now it seems the former Everton starlet, 20, is much closer to making the switch."
Do you really believe the sun?
The same Sun that said he was in the crowd on Saturday?

I was thinking that but who knows? Maybe they will post real news for once?(probably not)
I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one, I would be surprised if the Lego deal resurfaced, but this is football.

Back to the supposed Ledson injury. Surely if there was any truth in this story then he'd have gone under the knife and it would have been reported by now. The club doesn't hang around when operations are required especially when most of the recovery can take place before and during pre-season.

Maybe PNE need new medical staff so they can judge a player's medical results appropriately?

Just vague stuff from the Sun probably.

Had a bit of an update today. It's not completely off yet, as our local reporter said on his live chat today, and apparently the clubs are still talking and have both got knee specialists to assess the situation and give their opinions.

Oxford want/need the money, PNE want/need the player, Ledson wants/needs the move. Everyone wants it to happen, hence why the underlying knee thing is being looked into heavily to see if there's a way round the impasse and the move can be completed.

Robinson said in an interview that he doesn't know what he can say, which obviously means there is something he isn't saying; something more than we currently know. What that may be, well that's where speculation comes into it. It's hard for me to believe that Lego can play like he does, as often as he does, with an injury. He does everyone 100% - even the way he charged over against Rochdale to stick up for Hall! I could be wrong, I don't know, but I'd definitely be a bit surprised if it turns out to be true.

As a side note, I find it hard to believe that anyone who wants to be taken seriously could quote The Sun - The fecking Sun! - as a source of any kind. Taken to hacking fax machines, have they?! ;)

The same sun that reported on Ledson having to buy his own tickets to watch the Blackburn match with the fans? It hardly would take great investigative journalism to look at the teamsheet before reporting such nonsense.

Correct me if im wrong but didn't MAPP comment (during his time with us) that Ledson was a late developer (or something along those lines) in terms of his bone density?. Not sure if this is connected with the alleged knee problem but I'm sure something was mentioned a year or two back.

If it's true and he stays, you have to feel for him but from a selfish point of view it's great for us. He's also not the sort to feel sorry for himself, so im sure he'll give it 110% where ever he ends up playing. Championship, L1 or down the park.

Yep you're right. I imagine this is most likely the problem. Prestons medical team will. Be aware and probably have a different view to ours. Of course we've had the player for a couple of seasons so presumably are managing it in a particular way that works for all parties. Perhaps Preston have concerns on the best case of treatment going forward.
