Victoria has been writing to OMwearing her fosb spokesperson hat - letter in today - claiming the majority of Kidlington residents oppose the stadium project, and implying OUFC owners cannot afford to fund the £100m cost of the stadium....repro of OM letters page to follow later- Im out n about till this afernoon
She just makes it up as she goes along doesn't she?
She doesn't remotely deal with any facts at all.

Disagree with that flu comment Steve, my daughter was up to running 18 miles in her training for the London Marathon last year. A year on from Covid she has long covid with chronic fatigue and can’t run further than 1 mile so the common analogy of it’s like having flu doesn’t sit well with the thousands of long covid sufferers.
I get your point though that we just have to get on with and lead our normal lives, it’s just that flu handle that irks me!
Yes, some people have suffered with long covid.
Hopefully your daughter will pull through, it must be worrying.
some flu victims have 'long flu' ive Been told

The logical question is why the majority of residents who oppose the stadium didn’t bother to vote in the poll?

and as promised a few hours earlier - here it is ....... wondering if she has sold up /or is selling up and moved/ moving out of 'the village' ,as shes now giving the Poole, Dorset-based FoSB ( whose official postal address is Poole!) as where shes 'from', and not Kidlington? Given what a stickler she seems to be regarding where other people say they live on various social media platforms, it would be yet another display of blatant double standards from the FoSB (co) Spokesperson wouldn't it?

The woman is barking mad. Has no understanding for the real world. A word of advice Mrs Campbell, don't ever venture into business on your own. You would fail miserably. I doubt even your buddy Mr Middleton could drag you out of the mire with your preconceived ideas of finance and development projects.

She apparently knows more about the "markets" than the owners (including Horst Geicke who has/had significant investments in property and Erick Thohir who has already built a new stadium with DC United) and the specialists employed by the club. There is no end to her talents......

Oh and never mind that those billionaires etc will be backing it by providing security.

Saw this as one of the comments in the OM re the spokes person of ForSB. Interesting thought.

Spokeswoman Victoria Campbell said: "This puts a whole new perspective on this proposal because it means that the current owners don't intend to fully pay for the stadium themselves. Instead they are intending to raise money from external funding organisations or individuals who will inevitably be looking for a good return on their money and probably also for security. Well Victoria I see that you have your property up for sale, now will you accept an offer that is financed by a Mortgage ? Will you be buying a property with the help of a mortgage? Have you ever purchased a property with the help of a mortgage? I ask as this is normal practice for the vast majority of people and businesses. Why spend your own money when you can borrow at preferential rates? Pure economics.

Out of interest are any OUFC supporters asking OUFC Ltd why there is no "Plan B?" What if the ploy fails? What if they don't get planning permission? Who will be to blame for that?

I really don't know which word best describes Ms Campbell, deluded or desperate???

It has always been the intention to make the stadium "self funded" from day one. What this means, as anyone with a modicum of business experience or common sense will know, is that a certain amount of equity will be put in by the owners and the rest will be *outside finance. This outside finance is like a mortgage, and is serviced by the income from the stadium, and its facilities.

This is a balancing act whereby, just like a mortgage, the repayments have to be demonstrably affordable and also the repayment term has to be reasonable. A further element is that the repayments should still leave the club with sufficient income from the stadium to fulfil the club's aspirations. Our owners will guarantee this finance, rather than it being secured on the stadium. It does not mean that some shady loan shark will suddenly get their claws into our club and/or stadium. It's a perfectly normal set of circumstances for a major project of this type. It puts the club on a much sounder footing than at present, from day one, to the tune of £millions per annum. Also once the "mortgage' has been paid off and all of that income goes directly to the club, we will be even better off.

It also means that, even during the repayment period, the club has a substantial value to the owners, as it is in its own stadium, paying its own way, and will have a property asset once the "mortgage" is paid off. That is how the owners secure their investment, as they will have something of considerable value to sell if and when they move on.

Ms Campbell is trying to stir up doubt and unrest among the fan base and local residents, with her ludicrous ramblings, which is a bit rich for someone who has their house on the market and may not even live in the area when the stadium is built!

*Edit: Our owners have access to "outside finance" at rates the rest of us can only dream of.

The funding is a complete non-issue and one that makes FoSB look like complete amateurs by raising it. Particularly when linking this debt to the club when it's clearly stated that any financing will be secured against the owners rather than the club.

The questions about parking and/or public transport is a joke that is again easily countered as @Colin B did yesterday. And this is without the increase and improvements to public transport that will be part of the plans.

I'm convinced that not only will OCC and CDC see through this nonsense but it will reinforce that Campbell and Co. will come out with any old rubbish to stop a development that the county desperately needs and will further invalidate them as an "environment lobby group".

The stupid thing is that if they were truly worried about the green belt and the environment then would have the potential for more credibility, especially as applications to build on green belt need greater scrutiny. However, even this isn't insurmountable. Green belt is to prevent urban sprawl, but housing has already been agreed across much of this area. The stadium, on a tiny little bit of land surrounded by major roads will have zero impact and will likely provide greater protection to other green spaces.

There have been thousands of posts about the stadium project on here, letters in the Oxford Mail and all sorts of shite across other social media platforms, but the one thing that I always go back to is the quote Colin made a few weeks ago when asked on his confidence that this will all be successful.

I paraphrase but it was pretty much the following;

"I'm 99% confident that this will succeed, and that's only because I never say 100% to anything."

And that is all I need to know.

I'm sure there are also many of their associates in the ASEAN region who would be keen to invest too.
