I expect we will have a vastly better idea of what is going to happen if KR shows up on the forum tonight, which I expect him to as I can’t see him passing up a platform. Anything other than an outright “I’m staying and that’s the last I’m saying on anything to do with that” won’t cut it. Club comes first - tell the owner you want to go and hop it or wind it in and do your job. Two games in a row he’s been waving his A*****e at another club after the team has got three points, and the entire lead up to another big game this weekend has been overshadowed, which he has been happy to see occur due to the way he fuelled this on Tuesday night, rather than saying “I’ll need to speak to the board, I don’t know anything about this, I want to talk about the game just now”. Nobody should accept any answer tonight that isn’t definitive, and if it’s still dragging on then he shouldn’t be going on the radio at all. In or out.
As I said previously, at least we know that if he doesn’t go anywhere then he can’t play his cards this way again. Nothing wrong with clubs being interested whether it’s our players, coaches or anyone else, but we should all expect those approaches to be handled the right way. What nobody should tolerate is someone cracking on to their partner in a bar, and them responding with a hand around the waist or a stroke of the chest and lots of open flirting. That’s pretty much what’s gone on in recent days. If you want to go home with them and end it with us then fill your boots, but don’t walk around all night telling your mates that you need to be given a reason not to do it, and act like that’s in any way fair or reasonable. It’s really poor form and shows a total lack of respect, which I think is particularly rich given he was rewarded for a season of failure last year with a new three year deal.
Even if nothing happens the manner in which this has been conducted from his end will leave a sour taste with many, and he won’t have any choice but to reign it in or make himself look a prat. Can’t keep playing the same games, Karly Baby, and if you decide to stay now and then start moaning again next season, just remember that you very much signed up for it. If things are that awful here and you feel you’ve been stitched up that badly, off you go - your taxi is outside and you’ve already said you quite fancy getting in. If not then don’t cry six months down the line, because you’ll only succeed in proving that for you nothing is more important than being the centre of attention.
