Yes playing in the cold fountain at Cowley centreWell said, i used to get dragged round shopping every week when i was young and in freezing conditions!
I've wrecked my knees and back doing my job for the last 19 years, and I've been out in these so-called "arctic" conditions since 5am every day this week, with my oh so poorly back and knees, so by your reasoning, it would be acceptable for my bosses to just call work off this week, to protect it's workers from long term health problems?Or maybe medical science has moved on and we're more reluctant to batter players into submission so they avoid long-term health problems? If we don't learn from stories like Dave Langan's, then we're forced to repeat them.
Didn't know that, haven't been to a match there. It is virtually impossible as a casual supporter to get into a Dutch football match nowadays as you need to have a club affiliation via a membership scheme due to recent crowd violence so not seen the pitch and didn't even consider to think any top league side in Europe especially one with a longitude the same as London would even contemplate having an synthetic surface. Every day is a learning day.Synthetic pitch. Doesn’t freeze.
So you aren’t the one who’s a primary school teacher?I've wrecked my knees and back doing my job for the last 19 years, and I've been out in these so-called "arctic" conditions since 5am every day this week, with my oh so poorly back and knees, so by your reasoning, it would be acceptable for my bosses to just call work off this week, to protect it's workers from long term health problems?
No, that's the job, and I don't complain, because I choose to do it, and I'm paid well to do it. There are other professions if you can't hack the one you're in.
Health and safety in the workplace is virtually non existent in comparison to how these footballers are pampered and Molly coddled these days.
Like I said, they're not even playing on the kind of cut up, muddy frozen surfaces that WOULD'VE cut them up back in the day, it's a thick, smooth, lush carpet of grass for god sake, that might so happen to be a bit frosty and hard underneath.
They've only gotta play for 90 minutes, with a 15-20 minute break as well! GET ON WITH IT!!
sadly he works till 7.30pm week nights, and my granddaughter is working towards her next belt grading, neither can make tuesday night gamesSurely your partners son could either throw a sickie or swap a shift or book a days hop as regard your daughter surely she can come Tuesday evening and kick some a**e
Exactly, they may not have even been able to take the covers off as the daytime temps have hardly been warm.Covers on the pitch can also keep the frost & ice contained ,bit like a fridge
Exactly my point.. I was at that match..FROM THE ARCHIVES

Yes but it's cold, and icy, and I might slip over on the concrete and bump my head, and then wake up in the women's clothing section of John Lewis.Well said, i used to get dragged round shopping every week when i was young and in freezing conditions!
Agree. Not only is the grass rock hard but it's slippery as hell too. I remember a couple of games when I played youth football and my studs would not go into the grass anywhere on the pitch and some old stud holes would actually be a trip hazard. You'd see even frozen dogshit in someFrozen pitches are like playing on concrete ,you really want a player to land on their head let alone arms/ legs on such a surface .
Such a tw at. You just seem to be on this earth to point out your superiority to everyone and pi ss anyone and everyone off. Quite happy to be corrected by Ryanio with an informative and directive post, but you are such a kn ob how you react. If we all replied to your pathetic nonsense there would be no pages left on this site for anyone to post anything else. Just give it a rest godlike being who is so much better than all of us. You just can't resist pointing out inferiorities in people with completely pointless posts and it is incredibly boring. Not sure if I can be bothered to make a one line response to every insignificant and misinformed post that you ever make as I have a life to lead. Shame you don't.Take a breath and start again without all that nonsense.

I was at the kassam yesterday, everywhere around there was fine defrosted, the football pitch as you cut through the leys to k***m was fine. In fact I was all around Oxford & Kidlington yesterday. Everywhere was quite normal. Where I live is right next to farmer's fields as far as the eye can see. When it's bad , it's bad.. but yesterday & today it's normal..Exactly, they may not have even been able to take the covers off as the daytime temps have hardly been warm.
