A win tonight please. Just to keep the roll going. Big test Saturday.

And of course to celebrate the purchase/lease of the Triangle 🥳

Seems each time we get good stadium news, we're not at the races later that evening. Think it was Wycombe earlier in the year?

It's the Pizza Trophy, so it doesn't really matter, but that was disappointing.

Eastwood did well, Goodrham & Leigh were alright but not much else.

Getting so used now to Cam & MM dominating the middle of the park this season that it's jarring to see us losing the battle in there.
Perkins started well but then disappeared. Woltman has unfortunately been pretty poor. Defending a little slapdash as well......lucky to be all square.

Half time thoughts:

Eastwood has made a couple of decent saves, but he’s clearly a downgrade from Beadle when it comes to the ball at his feet.

Leigh is a quality player. I’m still not convinced by Thorniley.

McEachran isn’t as good as McGuane, so he’d have to take Brannagan’s place if he was to get in the team.

Woltman isn’t a left winger, he definitely seems like he’d be better centrally.

Goodrham is class. Perkins is promising, I reckon he could be better a bit higher up as a central striker.

Overall an end to end game, enjoyable to watch. We should have done better with some of our breaks but could also have conceded.

Woltman should definitely be hooked. Giving the ball away often but he does get himself in decent positions. Not been impressed by Stevens and Smyth. Allowed MKDons to pick up 80% of second balls. Not strong enough in the duals. Goodhram looks a class apart which he is.

Perkins has on at least three occasions made seriously good runs in behind the defence but no one has attempted to pick him out or left it too late. I feel like if we had Bodin/McGuane/Brannagan in the side he'd have scored today.

Having not watched since the Bristol debacle I'm saying:

Like Perkins, good movement and that,
Leigh looks good,
Wtf happens to the first team if Beadle gets an injury, have to change the system totally. Need to replace Eastwood, darling man tho he be.
Goodrham is special good,
Thornily is worrying but it's refreshing to see a defence without Moore standing and watching the ball.

That's about it.

Is it worth a tenner to watch or just listen for free?

If this ends as a draw, there will be pens to watch, might that be worth a tenner?

Finding Smyth quite frustrating. He has all the physical tools to be a really useful and imposing central midfielder, and has shown a few nice touches too, so clearly has the technique. He just never seems to impose himself on games, today is mostly passing him by. Really want to see him do well but you feel he's running out of chances at OUFC.

So much. After our general success in signing from the Irish leagues, it would be a real shame if he were to fall short.
