Just to emphasize what a dull Saturday this is - no team in League 2 had yet to score more than 1.
It wouldn't be ideal for either party involved, but now there's precedent from the Premier League, why don't the league let us play one of these teams this midweek? Wigan is the only side that's particularly far away. It would obviously be a bit s**t to rearrange a derby at such short notice, but Burton is less than a two hour drive and Portman Road can't be that much further. Surely at this point, so long as you have two teams available and willing, shoehorning in fixtures when you can is becoming a must - especially with what someone said earlier about us having 30 matchdays left and 29 potential fixtures.Teams not playing in L1 this coming week (although Shrewsbury play Southampton in the FA Cup)
Burton Albion, Ipswich Town, Oxford Utd, Swindon Town and Wigan Athletic.
100% agree. Perfect opportunity to get a fixture done.It wouldn't be ideal for either party involved, but now there's precedent from the Premier League, why don't the league let us play one of these teams this midweek? We would probably get fined for suggesting it to the EFL!A-ha! You are assuming the EFL could organise a pshhh up in a brewery
I'm watching Ox City V Haringey B in the FA Trophy. City 4-2 up after being 2-0 down. Cracking game, although it doesn't compare with watching the Mighty Yellows!Just to emphasize what a dull Saturday this is - no team in League 2 had yet to score more than 1.
This. If there is one thing I know about a KR Oxford side, it's that they come flying out of the traps like champions after any breaks.but hey - most of our first team will have essentially had an unscheduled winter break this year! Maybe that will hold them in good stead in the second half of the season?
Let's hope someone agrees.Robbo has said on Radox just now that he wants to play Wigan or Ipswich on Tuesday
Is he reading this thread? Hi Karl, keep up the good work. How's our new CB coming along?Robbo has said on Radox just now that he wants to play Wigan or Ipswich on Tuesday
Wigan would be ideal. Home game against a relegation zone team, who have themselves missed a couple of fixtures due to Covid since the turn of the year. Can't see them wanting to make that trip midweek at such short notice, though.Robbo has said on Radox just now that he wants to play Wigan or Ipswich on Tuesday
He’s playing left wing in the Scottish league two.Is he reading this thread? Hi Karl, keep up the good work. How's our new CB coming along?
In other news, Fleetwood have gone right off the boil, lost their manager and have only won one game in 90 minutes since the end of November (Swindon). That run includes a loss to Northampton and a home draw to Wigan. We play them at home in a couple of weeks - might this FINALLY be the year?!
I think you'll find Fleetwood will have a covid outbreak I'm afraid.
This sucks a postponement for waterlogged pitch what a joke not even Covid related.
Could they not just have found a training ground or something nearby to play the match it's not like they need to play at the stadium no fans there..
Just having a moan wanted to keep the run going.
With all the games postponed because of Covid seems crazy that they could not have got this one on because of a bit of rain.
The rain stopped at like 10am what have the groundsman been doing. Maybe Northampton wanted abit more time to get players fit abit of gamesmanship..
Highly pissed off by this.
