Away Match Day Thread +++ 11/02/20 Burton Albion v OUFC +++

I think the problem with Holland is that he seems very one footed - only ever looks to cut inside on his right. Presumably at u23 level that cuts ice but not in an actual league where managers will have done their homework on you.

Brannagan doing fine in the last 10 minutes. It was a bit of a hospital ball to Gorrin. Holland looks fairly lightweight. We actually look like the better team. Sykes looks tired not surprisingly. Taylor unlucky to get booked but hasnt done a lot. Need to get Agyei on the pitch. COYY

That was farcical.

The fragile/half-fit (or both) loanees (who we were assured were adequate replacements for the assets that were cashed in on right at the end of the window) are dropping like flies. Kelly looked shambolic before he went off too

Taylor so isolated he’s reduced to chucking himself to the ground and getting booked

Gorrin gets rested for a game and ends up booked and suspended.

Total comedy goal to concede too. Sorry Easty. You’ve been a wonderful servant for this club for the last few years. But if you come out and give stroppy B*****s interviews to the press like after the P’boro game then you’d best make damn sure your own game is in order. And Eastwood is another who is WELL below par right now.

An incredibly uncomfortable half to watch. Big 45 ahead now. Win, lose or draw - if we don’t come out and at least give a better account of ourselves in the second half it will say a lot about how fragile and soft this team has become - and at an alarmingly quick rate too

The team has lost its attitude and swagger and is surrendering silly goals. Players have to take ownership tonight before they fritter away the season. Heads up, heads forward, let's win this game and cut out those silly mistakes

First half didnt sound good for most of it but the glimmer of hope is that we improved for the last 10 mins of it.

The question has to be asked though - was our early January transfer busines that good? Holland doesnt really look up to being a first choice winger, something he now has to be with the departure of Fosu. It is a lot to ask of a young inexperienced player. Unfortunate for Kelly but he’s struggling to get up to match fitness, as is Thorne.
Forget the fact that we don’t own the players who were brought in over January so have lost assets, we’ve also lost fit and available players who know how the team plays. Kelly has taken over a month to get anywhere near fit and seeing as he’s gone off injured tonight he might still not have been right. Thorne isn’t right and hasn’t been for years. Holland has never played senior football and is seemingly in at the deep end now. Henry and Brannagan are still coming back from layoffs... we needed depth for numerous reasons and the decision to sell late and not replace is looking like a potentially fatal body blow. We also have no full back options what so ever.

And what the ABSOLUTE F**K has Dan Agyei got to do to get a game? Browne is injured, Mackie isn’t in the squad, Taylor just played 90 minutes at the weekend and we are told he can’t do that twice a week - what the hell has this guy got to do to just get on the god damn football pitch?

We need a massive second half now because that first half on every level was toilet. Christ knows what the midfield will look like on Saturday now. We are in for a royal a**e pounding if we don’t rediscover our form damn quickly.

RO suggesting that Kelly might not be injured. They said he he seemed to go down after seeing Gorrin getting called over by Robinson. Then looked upset as he went off and had a chat with KR? Im guessing he had something wrong, seems strange that they hinted otherwise..

MK Dons 2-1 up at Lincoln
Oh cancel that. Still 1-1

How have we gone from playing the quick, cutting football that was also solid at the back that we saw before Christmas to this? It is like someone turned a switch as soon as the new year came along.
