Away Match Day Thread +++ 11/02/20 Burton Albion v OUFC +++

Absolute f*****g B*****s yet again..well and truly found out. Half fit, raggy arsed. Horrible.

Hate to say it but lose tonight and lose against the Mackems then I fear the season will effectively be over. Disappointing tonight so far ☹️

If Eastwood hadn’t done that insane goal kick then 0-0 wouldn’t be too bad, we’ve played ok at times.

Holland looks very poor, can’t beat his man, doesn’t know what to do when he has the ball.

Sam Long, I like him and he’s a good guy but his failings compared to Chris Cadden are really clear on a night like tonight. He gives the ball away a lot.

Brannigan has come into the game more after being anonymous for most of the first half.

Not sure what's gone on since Xmas. We just aren't playing as a team anymore (minus the cup games) there is no urgency, no players moving in to space, Don't think Karl has a plan b as this isn't working and we aren't getting in the play offs on this showing.

We’ve not been that good yet still have created two decent chances which Holland could have taken. Seemed a bit bullied in the first 15.

Sykes barely in the game, midfield seem to be struggling with the pitch and everyone seems a little shot of confidence. Think there’s a lot of room for improvement and we’re only one down.

I was going to go tonight, but decided not to after the trip to Peterborough - I was hoping to regret that decision, but unfortunately it doesn't look like I will. We sound miles off it.

Thorne should have come on instead of Gorrin (if he’s fit). He’s had time and space on the ball, and you feel like Thorne could have played some better passes

Yeah agree with the Holland and Long comments as well.

Looked a pretty clear dive on iFollow I'm afraid.

The real frustrating thing here is we're showing flashes of what we're capable of - quick accurate passing, round the corner, CBs pushing into midfield creating overloads etc. But it's so rare, and the rest of the play is just not there. Probably don't deserve to be behind atm, but it's still really poor.

First half didnt sound good for most of it but the glimmer of hope is that we improved for the last 10 mins of it.

The question has to be asked though - was our early January transfer busines that good? Holland doesnt really look up to being a first choice winger, something he now has to be with the departure of Fosu. It is a lot to ask of a young inexperienced player. Unfortunate for Kelly but he’s struggling to get up to match fitness, as is Thorne.

Poor stuff in first half, improving slightly as Brannagan finally gets moving.
Holland is so lightweight.
Burton started fast but look ordinary...they could be leapfrogging us though tonight.

lets hope KR can inspire his bunch of crocks to turn this into a good old fashioned game of two halves and the U's come back from behind to nick a win
