We didn't sit back though. Our attacks just kept breaking down because we were profligate with possession and opportunities

Maybe I should of worded it that we slowed down the pace of our play especially in midfield. Shrewsbury were on the rocks and a tactical switch and binging on McEachran killed the momentum.

Cumming
Stevens Moore Brown Leigh
Brannagan Rodrigues
Dale Goodrham Murphy
Browne

All out attack next game

Absolute dogsh*t, yet again. The same failures, the same result time and time and time again.
Cumming at fault again, his confidence is absolutely shot (or he's just not very good, not sure which).
Brown diabolical, Bennett awful, Rodrigues shouldn't be anywhere near the first team at present. But then again nobody had a stellar game, just average. And average doth butter no parsnips at this stage of the season.
Hopefully we now banish this absolute fallacy that we can go up this season...it's like buying a lottery ticket and hoping for six numbers, there's a chance, sure, but we should stop deluding ourselves.

We drew a game we should have won. It's not a "collapse"

I don't think it's particularly helpful to remain silent when the team is winning and then to call for the manager's head as soon as we concede.

Why write during the game. We are busy watching the game, and comment either at Half time or Full Time. To give our analysis or views on the game. Sometimes we agree, and sometimes disagree.

Unfortunately the manager has to take the blame, for sitting on a 1-0 lead, and doesn’t seem to know how to adapt to what is happening in front of him. His subs were questionable, and I’m still trying to work out the game plan each time those players enter the football pitch.

He’s painful to listen to after games, and quite clearly out of his depth. I genuinely fear for us next season, if he’s still here, because we’ve been poor ever since he entered the building.

Front four of Dale, Browne, Murphy and Harris for Fleetwood. Browne should play no.10 - Rodrigues absolutely anonymous today. Again.
I would drop Dale and Murphy and replace with Browne and Burey but Des won’t be that brave. Maybe Goodrham and Browne. Dale works hard, he’s tenacious but let’s be honest he’s not great. Murphy floats in and out but doesn’t stamp his authority on games enough.

We all have an opinion on Marcus Browne but the stark truth is that bloke is on a different level to any other winger we have. Dale is full of vigour but he’s miles off Browne, so is Murphy.
I don't think anyone would argue with that, based on talent and ability, but Browne is a brittle gingerbread man, and always has been, even before his major knee injuries, and that's why he's playing at league one level and not higher.

And yet so many of those who don't like commenting during the game managed to comment during the game as soon as we conceded.

Absolutely this.

People need to go watch the 30 seconds before the equalizer again.

Yes, it was poor keeping, and there were some questionable defensive clearances, but before that we massively over-committed going forwards, and allowed them to waltz the entire length of the pitch without being challenged.....in the last ten minutes of a game we were winning by a single goal.

If we had actually sat back, kept possession and killed the game (as, for example, we did in the home game under Manning against the same opponents) then we're heading home with 3 points tonight.

There's never any control of the game under Des. It always feels frantic, always harum scarum, and you always feel like we have another mistake in us.

Leigh and Stevens in aswell
I agree on Stevens, but not Leigh. They’re both too attack minded.
You need at least one β€œcontaining” full back when playing wingers, I like Bennett more than Long at the moment.

As for Leigh. One piece of skill from Harris not enough. Didn’t look like scoring his one on one.
I’m getting to the point where I reckon Greg could do a job up front.

Des stating the bloody, bleeding obvious. It's like listening to KR and his beloved xg.

We didn't score more than the opposition. We didn't defend against the opposition.

Yep agree, the same old excuses and tripe rolled out week after week from Des. Try being honest with the fans.

Say it's not good enough, say the mentality is wrong and say that certain players aren't up to it. Fans would respect you more for it.

Very disappointed today, and am now slightly doubting if Des is the right fit for this club.

Yeah, I agree, our error was definitely not in sitting back too much. I like going for a second, but you have to be wary of the counter.

What kind of form and results would it take for you to β€œseriously” consider if he’s the right fit?
