New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Sent in quite a few never been printed yet
theres more than a few whove written/emailed OM supportive of the Stadium , yet the editorial chose not to publish the vast majority. Anyone would think that a certain pressure group has support there at OM, as well as the tame, FoSB n co manipulated, moderators on Nextdoor Kidlington

FOSB's experienced, independent ecological consultant's twitter bio describes herself in her own words as an ' Ecologist, Palynologist (pollen expert) quite good at botany'. based on that I think I will side with Natural England's professional opinion on the plant life
It only took me 3 minutes to find the Independent consultant liking FOSB social media posts.

Met my sister earlier, shes absolutely fuming re a letter from an adrian sutton in todays om...earlier shed been to visit her 2nd hubbys older sister who lives in kidlington near to Sainsburys...her sister in law emphatically and triumphantly ttold my sister that oxford united didnt have to move ' it said so in the oxford mail'

It really is misinformation circulated as fact by FoSB and local councillors that causes people such as her to believe them.

My sister tried and failed to convince her or the real facts, simply she chose to believe a letter making spurious claims based on the badly researched nonesense published on om front page ((and in oxford times) information fed to the local rags by FoSB
I often wonder when such headlines and stories make it to the Oxford Mail, why the club don’t submit a formal statement setting the position absolutely straight about all the misrepresentations made, and just maybe agreeing with the Ox Mail that they publish this, so everyone is absolutely clear what the true situation is.

It can only be they are not as worried about such content having any bearing on the planning application as the fans are, otherwise surely they would have wanted the record to be 100% straight for the clubs sake and everyone concerned. I’m just really surprised at the amount of inaccuracies that are out there about all sorts of things and why the club hasn’t wanted to get on top of all this and accurately inform the public of the real position.

I agree with this sentiment. Call them out, counter the lies wherever they appear. What I'm not so at ease with is the meme jokes that have been appearing on this thread recently, I don't think they really help. But that's personal opinion, they aren't breaking any forum rules.
Agree with this, whether these images (for the memes) are in the public domain or not, we're better than that, I feel we should stick to challenging bullshit with facts, not memes, we have absolutely no need to get personal with them, we know they're absolute weapons, but the way to show others that is to highlight the crap they talk

That's only because she is very friendly, as you delve a bit deeper you find that she is also involved with 'Friends of Milham Ford Nature Park', Friends of Lye Valley, and Friends of Cothill reserves. This is probably just be a coincidence though as FOSB say she is 'independent'

Absolutely. Regarding the 18 January piece, it did contain this:

A club spokesman said: "The club has explored options at the current stadium. We have always been clear in our position and remain focused on securing a long-term and sustainable future for the club and look forward to submitting our full planning application."

That was it. No named person from the club at all. It almost looks like it may have been lifted from another article or source and not a direct quote in response to the FK 'story'.

And who were the two people quoted to pad out the article? Only Suzanne McIvor and Ian Middleton!

It really is a shoddy bit of journalism. Albert Tait has since left the OM for The Telegraph (not really a step up bearing in mind the state of the Torygraph nowadays) but I'm so annoyed that it has been allowed to fester and remain online. I wrote to Andrew Colley about it and received no response and, as mentioned in this thread, have asked OxVox to talk to the club about that particular article and the relationship with the OM as well.

It's this sort of thing from an Oxford(shire) mainstay that should be presenting factual information. There's nothing factual in that and yet we have people quoting it and seeing it as a stick to bash the club with.

Lives in Kidlington but hangs about in Greater leys when we have a match on watching fans arrive? We have barely played at home in the last month, its amazing how many of these people have witnessed our fans P**s in peoples gardens yet the local residents never mention it?

Some people like to watch football on a Saturday afternoon, others prefer to venture across town from OX5 to OX4 specifically to lurk in bushes with a pair of binoculars trying to spot inebriated young men exposing themselves.

Aren't there laws against voyuerism?

As comments go from the opposition, that one is well and truly up there!.

do these (FoSB manipulated) people really not realise that the postcode for the Triangle is OX2 ? ( Kidlington is OX5)
What's the point in dealing with facts if they are of detriment to your argument? These people have lied enough, so what's one more inaccuracy going to do?
