Can we put Craig Short in charge for this one? He's got a 100% record this season and against Orient to boot!

Also can Orient please bring their supporters club bar with them, it had some rather good ales and porters at £4 a pint when we went there🤣🤣

3-0 win to the boys in yellow.

Cumming
Long, Negru, Brown, Bennett
Matete, Brannagan
Murphy, Rodders, Goodhram
Harris

Subs: Eastwood, Leigh, Thorniley, McGuane, Dale, Bruery, Goodwin

Could we have a Palestinian protest in town and a transport strike as well😂😂

Leigh over Bennett, otherwise that's decent.
I put Bennett in as I thought he was good on Saturday and Leigh hasn’t been his usual self since coming back from injury. I also think Bennett adds a bit more defensively than Leigh does.

It is a good sign though that we have 2 excellent players where either could play and it doesn’t weaken the side. We just need the same at right back next season.

When have you seen Murphy in the 10 role and thought he would be a better option than Bodin on RR?
Never seen him there but my thinking was that he would have a free role to drift wide and behind while Goodwin receives the ball deep. RR has not been good enough recently and I think Burey deserves some minutes so would try it.

Definitely Leigh at left back.Thought Bennett looked a bit lightweight at times Tuesday.I would also start Goodwin we are lacking a centre forward that can hold the ball up.Not saying that Harris hasn't done well by the way.

That wouldn’t work if Murphy is drifting wide. As a 10 you would play RR, Bodin or TG. Bruery hasn’t been in the last 2 squads so I can’t see he would suddenly get a start.

I get Matete has a good history in this division and that McGuane might not even be fully fit, but on what he has done here so far (and he is obviously very rusty) I can't say picking him above McGuane is the right choice, he has been a bit crap to be honest. I suppose the only way he can get better is minutes but that might be us getting him sharper at our expense if he doesn't hurry up, not that many games left for us to benefit and this one in particular we need the 3 points.

Still surprises me anybody would default to dropping Rodrigues rather than discuss how/why Des hasn’t managed to extract a good performance out of him in 20 odd games… I appreciate he’s not been at his creative best but you can count on one hand the number of times he is given the ball (when it isn’t smashed at him) in a position to be effective.

A few players are profiting from whatever style it is we’re now playing (still no idea what it is) but we’re also underachieving with others. Rodrigues to me is someone who can turn a decent side in to an excellent one. Or a play off hopeful in to a play off certainty - one that could win them.

Got to start turning these draws into wins. If Des says we need 18 points to secure a play-off place, then we need to beat the likes of Orient at home to take the pressure off of the trickier away games like Pompey and Bolton.

prediction: 2-1 Oxford (Murphy, Bodin with the goals)

If Buckingham is still here in a year then I don’t think Rodrigues will be.

He doesn’t like 10s; he prefers wingers and 8s with more mobility.

I know every manager should have their system but I also believe they should have the ability to walk in to a club and build a team around the better players. He’s playing Rodrigues which suggests he knows he’s too good to leave out but getting nothing out of him. Just not seeing the logic in any of it.

Rodrigues was the type of signing that should’ve kicked us on to promotion. It’ll be a complete waste if he goes, other than a handy financial gain (* rolls eyes *).

I know who I’d rather was here in 12 months at this moment in time. Ask me again at the end of the season.
