We have quickly gone from 2nd place to 7th under Des and in freefall
This is proving to be a DESaster.

Showing that someone successful with managing/coaching New Zealand and Indian teams has the same little relevance as me succeeding with my local pub team.

Lucky that Manning at least stayed around long enough to get us enough points to be safe from relegation.

There's no doubt it does have a similar feeling right now to the second half of last season. Obviously we're not in the danger we were then, but the malaise is there.

KR with 8 points from 4 games at Salford. This from a side that was seriously struggling!
We were a better team even under KR than under DB - what has Des brought to the table? Be ready for some key players voting with their feet in the next few days :-(

We will still have a lack of forward players if Buckingham left today.
And we were all thinking the start of January would mean we get some more (fit ones) in. But apparently games played in January don't count, or something.

I know football is an emotive game but jeez …. And the alternative is, Baz? We’re not Reading going out of business. We’re a side just outside the playoffs having a rough patch.

Yeah, we lose matches and we’re not doing as well under Des as any of us hoped. However, if you cannot see that this side has some major limitations imposed upon from the manager before Manning, have a word. Did anyone really expect perfection? I never even predicted a playoff place. Just a top half finish as an anti tide to last season and steps in the right direction again.

A few days left of the window and I want some proper signings. Not ‘Tories counting hospitals’ style ‘signings’ by saying players who are already here are new signings. New players who are ready to play and start mucking in. All this talk of players being ready for April or bringing in injured players is B*****s. It needed a strong window and we haven’t had it yet.

The alternative is free falling and seeing the season out in mid table. I’d sack him before it’s too late. If we are happy to see this opportunity wasted and start afresh next season then keep him. Just depends how serious a football club we are and whether our aspirations actually are genuine or whether the club just talk a load of B*****s about where they want to be.

I don't want to berate Buckingham (I think he's been dealt a poor hand) - but can't say that I have seen *anything* at all that makes me think he might be a good appointment as yet. They won't sack him though, even if he loses the next five games on the trot.
There's not many managers in football who take over a team that's in second place. He is extremely lucky and whilst injuries have been unfortunate, he has more than enough resources at his disposal to compete. The Derby game was a test of his game management ability and he got into a catastrophic mess with that and there's been too many games where we've been poor especially away from home. He's quite fortunate that we spent a lot of money on him because another manager in a similar position probably would be out by now so the season can be salvaged.

What really worries me is even when we are loosing we have no urgency in our play. We still don’t get the ball forward making 6 passes when 2 would have done. When the opposition attack we stand watching them. This is the same team (virtually) that started so well but they are also the same players that struggled last season. I feel it’s a good job we did start well or we would be in another relegation battle

Yeah, we have a lot of players who simply aren't good enough. Good in spells, good in patches, but not consistent, and not reliable.

It's unfair to blame Des for that, but equally it's not possible to provide any evidence that he's any good. There just isn't any.

We'll bring a couple in, and, with luck, we'll get a couple of the injured back playing. We'll see where we are then.
