New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

Aside from which, last time I looked, Thames Valley Police covers Reading as part of their area. Not just Oxford. Have these people even been identified as from Oxford or even linked to OUFC?

The article says 8 arrested were from Oxon but they're not the ones pictured. Big Reading fanbase in South Oxon.

One shouldn't jump to conclusions.

There was a change of finance director recently, perhaps the need to file this return wasn't handed over?
It’s possible. Yet given those directors still listed would have received a postal reminder addressed directly to them advising that accounts are due, it’s essentially been ignored/forgotten about. It is quite irresponsible.

As a member of the progressive Green Party, I'm sure what Ian is getting at by sharing this article is that there is a lack of educational facilities and job opportunities for young people (particularly from working-class backgrounds) in Oxfordshire, which is a key contributor to high rates of violence.

With that in mind, I can only think he is endorsing the stadium considering the club's commitment to 'provide flexible educational and community facilities within the site, enabling the stadium to become a hub for local people and the community as they take part in a wide range of activities, including skills and training", as well as generating over 450 new jobs, primarily in the hospitality sector.

Nice to see he's finally come around to our way of seeing things. Welcome, Ian!

Company set up to build the stadium, late in submitting accounts. Interesting… or nothing of concern?
Tim Davies, our previous Financial Director, did the initial incorporation of Oxford Park Developments Limited, and then acted as Company Secretary for it. He left OUFC last year and was removed as a Director/Secretary from OPD in November, and it appears that he hasn't been replaced yet. OUFC have just appointed a new head financial guy, so I'd imagine that he will shortly be appointed as Secretary of OPD to replace Tim Davies.

The four remaining Directors of OPD are all based overseas, and their postal addresses for OPD are (I think) the training ground, so whatever has been posted to them is possibly still laying in an unopened envelope at the training ground.

It is still a very poor look though and I can't believe they just left things to drift in this way. We have other people within the organisation who could/should have stepped into the breach and dealt with this. Tim Williams is an accountant by profession and it begs the question of, firstly why didn't he deal with this when Tim Davies left, and secondly, what exactly does he do???

Did he tweet about this...

...as he appears to be interested in crime, and this is in his area, or is he only interested in incidents miles away whilst trying to score petty points?
He's not interested in the people he represents, it's all about trying to stop the stadium for Middleton now.

That and pushing the vegan agenda. Couple that with KPC and GWEPC's absolute obsession with us the people of those parishes aren't receiving proper representation on the issues that really matter.

Let's not forget members of FoSB and Kidlington Development Watch stood as Green Party candidates in the last local elections outside of their parish in a cynical Trojan Horse attempt to get onto Cherwell District Council simply to try and influence the stadium issue. They had no interest of actually representing the people in the wards they were standing in.

It's a shame the opposition groups are negatively impacting local politics.

This happened in Reading Town centre, so miles from Readings ground, if you turn it around and say its going to happen when we move to the triangle then it will happen in Oxford City Centre, again miles from the actual ground. He wants to worry about the actual incidents happening in his ward which he ignores to focus on stopping a potential £100 million outside investment, its fairly obvious that he has got himself elected to just stop anything being built anywhere near where he lives, a true example of a nimby local politician.

Thank you for this @Colin B

When I read things like this,I become increasingly worried that our club is not being run by the correct people.
By this I don’t mean the owners, they have gone above and beyond what any of us could have expected.

No it’s the likes of Williams and Ferguson who are running the club and the host of new faces they have brought in behind the scenes I keep hearing from different sources that Niall Mc W the man who has led the stadium project in discussions with OCC is now deemed superfluous in ongoing talks

This shows lack of understanding by our MD and CEO.

I have been out of the country since the start of the year and was hoping that on my return today I would see that the planning application would be in and hopefully lots of updates on where things go from there, but apart from one piece which was put out in a rush, nothing.

I see Mr Bakrie was at the game on Tuesday hopefully he is here to put a seal of approval on things. The Mail and Radox should have been busting a gut for an interview but nothing as yet. They should also start putting pressure on Mr Williams because as @Colin B says, what exactly does he do ?

f**k all as far as I can tell

While I agree that the fail and radio Oxford should be getting an interview with him why hasn't our own media channels got a interview with him

That’s not fair, for a start a self promotional interview for the Athletic, writes highly informative updates letting his customers know that retail sales are going well and matchday activations are rather splendid, he knew and announced Des’ assistant before the head coach was even aware the position had been filled, now that’s being proactive!

You know he used to work for Man U and Inter Milan?

I've had a look at the registry for Community Assets and, sadly, cannot find a current entry. It would appear that the registration was not renewed.
If @OxVox can say otherwise, then good. If not, it is an opportunity missed. (Aside from anything else, it really, really pissed off Kassam!)
Following up on this, I've just looked through my emails, I had a message from OxVox on 31st August last year saying "the ACV listing renewal request is with the City Council and awaiting a reply." I'll chase this up now and see if it made it through.

Slightly going off the present topic.... I was thinking and this may have been discussed before,

Regarding shutting the road outside the new stadium.

Why not add pelican crossings to be used before the game? .... As supporters come in randomly, there's no mass of people in one go.

After the game shut the road for 30 minutes not one hour, surely that'll be enough time for the main bulk of supporters to clear?

Sorry if this has been done to death before

You've got more chance of him doing an interview with The Athletic than with his own club's media team!
Giving an interview to Chris Williams doesn't increase his profile nor will it help massage his fragile ego.

On the road issues, why can't we just have lollipop ladies (probably should call them lollipop people now)?!

Plans already in place for crossings. Initially as a result of plans prior to anything to do with the stadium. It's what dear Mr Muddleton ignores, his own dream of cycle paths and pedestrian crossings to reach Oxford Parkway.

So we’ve got Muddleton to thank for doing all the groundwork for the pedestrian crossing over the Oxford Road from Oxford Parkway to the Triangle.

There’s something rather wonderful how that’s worked out.

Not sure how much OCC are spending on the works at Kidlington roundabout, but it’s fair to say that some of what they plan may need to be altered when the stadium gains planning permission.
Would it not therefore have been a better use of public ( and private) monies to wait until that decision has been made and plan accordingly .

Now don't go bringing common sense into it.
If they'd waited for the stadium to be built I would imagine most of the cost for changes to the roundabout would have been met by the club.
