Home Match Day Thread 19/04/2024: L1 - OUFC v Stevenage

Disappointed obviously and clearly the 3 games in 6 days had a huge impact, particularly against the teams we were up against. Stevenage were awful and were there for the taking but we're again looking at our lack of striker options costing us. Manning to blame for that one as Harris wouldn't be...

We won't though will we. Beacause that's not 'how we roll'.

How come you believe other clubs have money to spend and we (Oxford not Charlton 😉) don't? We have been in the market to spend on players and actually have done so but you criticse us if something doesn't come off then come out with comments like this trying to imply there is something wrong/we...

Manager/Coach Life After Manning - New Manager Search

Williams coming here is not the same as Manning going to BC. Disingenuous from what he said to Notts yes, but he's been there a while and got them promoted.

True, but it's also possible with the same backline to relegate us if you try hard enough.

    Ex-Staff Liam Manning

I thought he was brought in to take us to the next level, not as I assume you are alluding to, stopping us getting relegated? That was the first part of the puzzle. Can't argue with the decision to go to a bigger club with a bigger pay packet but moving on after such a short space of time...

Good. The amount of times we've completely dominated them and come away with nothing is ridiculous. Couldn't care less what they think, we're constantly finding ways to pick up points against teams we'd previously lose against so let them whinge, we're a far better set up.

General New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Land Deal

We've had some comments about Stratfield Brake being sold for housing in x years time - is it feasible that the move to the Triangle was done in the knowledge/hope that SB could become a commercial opportunity in its own right? And apologies if that's been asked already!

not a proven league one striker then? forget it, he'd never do well.

You could argue it was the injury that broke the camel's back but it's a different scenario, particularly as Baldock is made of glass (which we knew before signing) and we have more robust players now. The point is more that our squad depth is better now so the premise that the season would end...

Maybe the "miserable sod" bit was because you proclaim the season would be over if there was one injury. If you didn't lace your opinions with doom mongering all the time it might help change people thinking you're a troll.

How would he get on their radar as a player that would improve them?!

You might be right in all that but on the first point that was clearly stupid and you would hope he has learned. The second was apparently as a result of some pretty toxic racial abuse and I don't think instigated by him. On the third isn't it possible we're trying to shift players before we...

Thorniley we know is a good player, he'll be fine. Not sure about Stevens but don't think he came in as a finished article. Expectations for this season were pretty mild until we started preseason and because that was so good a lot of people are up in arms about the start we've. Obviously we...
