New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Planning

I would love to know what alternative solution the LibDems had for funding the completion of the Kassam Stadium in 1998. Funnily enough I don't remember hearing anything at the time.

Responses so far.....

For: 803 with 118 from OX5 and 266 total from CDC

Against: 109 with 80 from OX5 and 4 additional from CDC area.
So 803 in support. When the future of our football club is in jeopardy and the proposed stadium would secure the future am I the only one who thinks this a poor response from our fan base?

No you aren't.

But then I believe the club could of done a hell of alot more to get the message across that we cannot stay at the Kassam stadium and the reason behind it.

Absolutely not. It's not even a quarter of our season ticket holders.

A thought regarding the planning portal feedback. I believe it would help if respondents made statements relating to the build itself and the infrastructure with all the work done to encourage the use of public transport etc. The emphasis seems to be tending towards a more emotional statement relating to the potential demise of OUFC. Whilst this is true, it is not necessarily a factor in the planning decision. Mentioning the use of Park & Ride locations (multiple) the ease of access for all mobilities, the emphasis on maintaining the ecological surroundings with open spaces for all to enjoy, the design of the stadium to retain light and sound so as no to encroach upon neighbouring areas, etc. etc.
All this will play a factor in deciding whether the build is suitable and meets criteria allowing for the use of green belt land. (whether that land is actually the garden of Eden or an ex-motocross track)

Apparently it's all a Tory plot🤦View attachment 19080
So, Cllr. Miller has effectively politicised the affair. Therefore it is clear that the LibDem Green coalition are opposing the stadium for their own political aims. Talk of protecting the club from "bad people" is so disingenuous as to be laughable. Delaying the HoT and formally objecting on the planning portal for reasons that, in council, are part of confidential discussions, is seeking to protect the club? They are losing it, big time.

It was a very confused exchange. You can see it all on Cllr Miller's Facebook page.

The only bad people I can see are lying Lib Dems and those trying to stall the stadium for their political gains.

Your right re the build, however those involved with the application are the experts, the supporters are not as technical re the structure etc. where were the posters, banners or even an electronic reminders on the digital pitch side advertising boards during the last 3 home games. They did not have to tell people how they should respond (for or against) but just remind those attending that CDC planning were inviting responses.

There is without doubt a lot of behind the scenes activity and we need to be careful, but reminding people that they have the opportunity to put forward their personal responses, would not have rocked the boat imo.

Have you got a link to his page? My search didn't turn up anything.
