This, obviously, was the best bit...

well

Cllr Andrew Gant, Liberal Democrat Green Alliance (Liberal Democrat Member) for Wolvercote and Summertown.

So one of the Lib Dems has finally got off the fence.

His arguments about the inconvenience of using Frieze Way are extremely weak.

As has been mentioned before, the time and distance from Sainsbury’s Kidlington to Cutteslowe roundabout by car;

Via Oxford Road, 1.6 miles, 6 minutes.

Via Frieze Way 2.5 miles, 9 minutes.

So a diversion via Frieze Way adds less than a mile to your journey and takes just 3 minutes longer.

Do NOT vote LibDem or Greens if you support the new stadium move.

CALL TO ACTION
Key action and templates just released on the Stand United page. Admins could you pin this and/or set up a new thread?

Appears the council are refusing to budge from their against stance, hopefully this will focus their minds.

Is this the first time the club (via OUSP), rather than OxVox, has asked fans to send in comments to the portal and contact councillors.

It shows how serious this is getting.

(And shows that Plan B will need to be communicated at some point since the summer of 2026 is looking unlikely for opening the new stadium.)
Why is 2026 looking unlikely.
Are you suggesting that it will be 2027 at the earliest?
I have seen rumours of a delay but nothing more than that?

So the Kassam has a large free car park that accommodates all those fans travelling by car. Well councillor Gant, I question your knowledge of the Kassam on match days as anyone who attends home games will disagree with that statement. Also your highlighting the P&R car parks and the capacity, this has been looked at closely and full capacity numbers are well catered for. You fail to mention the bus services and the mainline train station. Summertown Stars, do these children play games through the autumn and winter months on a Tuesday night? I don’t think so, travelling by car via frieze way is not an issue as you have direct access to 5 mile drive from the wolvercote roundabout.

Councillor Grant where do you reside in Oxfordshire?

Are we surprised the husband of Katherine Jane Willis, The Baroness of Summertown holds these views?
