Ex-Staff Liam Manning

The silence is deafening but to be fair it would be quite funny if LM repeated the CB-Blackpool scenario and did a complete 180 turnabout deciding there was simply too much of an opportunity here and wanted to finish what he'd started!
There would be some red faces on here.
Trust me I would not have a red face, the red face would be his ,for not publicly saying I'm not going ,if not true. instead of letting a storm whip up.

You just know BCFC will start bidding for McGuane, Brannagan in Jan.

Manning clearly didn't believe in the project that much. I've rejected jobs for more money but in the football industry it seems everyone is expected to just F off as soon as they're offered more money of a shiny new club.

Hope he gets sacked within a year at Wurzels.

Some of you have really slurped the Manning Kool-Aid. Not too high, not too low seems to be the order of the day.

Football depends on our emotion. If we don’t have the emotional bond, those who earn their money on the back of it will find themselves without their career. Even if you don’t feel it, cut those that do some slack without belittling their disappointment from your apathetic ivory towers.

Clearly didn't back himself to fulfill the project.

We are in a very good position on and off the pitch and should be a very attractive proposition for alot of managers.

Contracts are drawn up and include clauses from both parties. Manning may of insisted of a buy out clause. What exactly can the club do about that?

Manning hasn't achieved anything to note in his short managerial career and it was always going to be a project for him here and abit of stability but clearly he wants to chase the £££s instead.
If a manger with no real success and a sacking on his CV then if he asked for a buyout clause why didn’t the board say we’ve offered you a job and you’re lucky so be grateful, why was he allowed to dictate his contract?

Hell hath no fury like a football fan scorned.

I don't really have a problem with that though, people are saying that their is no loyalty in football and that fans should just accept that, well in that case no problem in showing none to Manning and calling him a snake is there? Why would be people show loyalty to 7 month Liam?

I would beat Bristol City to the punch, announce he has gone (if that doesn't effect compo obviously) and say the hunt for the new 'permanent' manager is on, have a sly little dig at the length of his tenure. We won't because we are nice little Oxford who don't like to offend.

Same question could be asked why players are allowed to dictate on contracts. It was likely he wouldn't take over without the cause in the contract and the board see him as a long term manager to build their project.

Just a thought regarding the compensation as someone has already said it could be £100.000 or it could be £999.000 that's a big difference. So is this something that is set in stone, or have the two clubs have to come to some sort of agreement on the figure
A years salary apparently

Red faces from anger, because of the lack of info coming from the club and Manning for denying an approach.

Let's be honest if he stayed and we had a bad run over 8 games we would want him gone. There are alot of good managers out there we will survive .

Hopefully our board have the foresight to put a clause in to stop that from happening.
