A win tonight please. Just to keep the roll going. Big test Saturday.

And of course to celebrate the purchase/lease of the Triangle 🥳

Hmmmm.....not great.

If the purpose of tonight was to see which squad players would push their counterparts from Saturday for a place in the first team, then it's a short list - Leigh, Negru, Goodrham. And we knew that those three were pushing for first team spots already!

None of the others made Manning's decision for Exeter in their position a tough one......

I wonder what Manning is like in the changing room after a performance like this. He doesn't come across as a screamer. Does he give them that parenting 1.0.1 "I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed" line?

For me now this might be controversial but Negru was solid his usual self goodrham was lively but leigh I was abit disappointed with him tonight his passing was abit wayward

Improved their standing:

Murphy - was electric when he came on, couple of great through balls and good dribbles too. Tried hard so can’t be accused of that either. I think he deserves a place in the squad on Saturday

Johnson - Still looks raw and young but you can see the potential

Brown - People say he can’t play as a left sided CB in a two but he did well

Leigh - Looks a class act

Negru - Better than Thorniley in my opinion

Goodrham - Quick feet

Damaged their standing:

Perkins - Not his natural position but didn’t really look that bothered or full of effort. Maybe that’s just how he seems as he was the same when he came on against Port Vale, but worrying if he’s a big time Charlie PL youth player who doesn’t want to put a shift in

Woltman - Again out of position and his lack of pace was exposed, also wanted too much time on the ball

McEachran - Silly penalty to give away even if it was soft. Another with zero pace and little physicality

Thorniley - Just not on it yet

Smyth - Some good but plenty bad. Hardly demanding a start and hasn’t kicked on like McNally and Negru have

It's been a great day in the office a shite night on the pitch I suppose it's typical OUFC 🙂

Latest in Lge 1.

Barnsley 1-3 Pompey
Posh 2-0 Cheltenham
Vale 1-3 Burton (Seddon scored)

Lost count of the number of times we won the ball and then gave it straight back to MK.

A comedy of errors tonight and a deserved defeat although the pen. was ridiculously soft.

McEachran nowhere near fit and Oisin Smyth’s passing ability deserted him as the match wore on. Josh Johnson has more to his game for me than Smyth.
Woltman faded badly, Perkins largely a passenger and Harris just didn’t put himself about at all which is odd as he misses the next two league matches.

Leigh was our best player tonight by a mile. Murphy impressed in his cameo and should de rewarded with a place on the bench for Saturday.
The rest of them did themselves no favours although Negru was OK.

Pretty poor showing by the team. I think Saturday will be more straightforward. I cant believe that Exeter are long term top 3 material. The question is are we?
Another good performance from Murphy.

An odd one. Reminiscent in turns of a pre-season friendly followed by an 11-year-olds kick and rush. More or less every player could look and identify one or two good things they did, but overall extremely disjointed. Only really got going when Murphy came on and had something about him.

Good to see Josh Johnson in action again too, he did OK.
