Very encouraging news filtering through and I hope we can get it over the line shortly. Some of the propaganda the FoSB have been peddling in their last-ditch attempts at diminishing the project is absolutely hilarious and quite frankly unacceptable conduct.
I notice you haven't indicated you've sent OCC an email, if you haven't, get it sent 😀

Hi Folks

Temporarily locking this thread to draw attention to the OCC email thread, we have 7 days until the council make their decision and while officers have instructed councillors to approve the sale, this is not a given, on the thread below make sure to add your name to the poll if you have sent an email, if you haven’t, now is the time to do so!

Make no mistake, FoSB will be upping their smear campaign in light of seeing these recommendations, let’s drown out their negativity with an abundance of supportive emails.

IF and it’s still a big IF we get the go ahead on the 19th Will the Oxford Mail start backing the club?

My view is they have been anti the stadium project and despite countless letters to the editor and others they have remained bias to FoSB and the like. So for me whatever they do won’t be enough for me to forgive them

If you still buy the Mail please stop
I think this article reads like a step along that process, leading with the positive and no rehash of a tired fosb deflection attempt

its tucked away on the back page in the sports section... not on the front page Whereas OM have placed pretty much ALL FoSB views on the stadium at the Triangle, with screaming headlines too.

'hiding' pro stadium copy anywhere( but on the front page) is not balanced coverage, its blatantly biased by American owned (Newsquest) OM, who really don't seem to grasp that Oxford United supporters are- well were- ( lots, self included, have stopped buying the rag)- probably the largest demographic of people who bought the hard copy OM 'news'paper. In their quest (!) to ramp up clickbait stories they've really gone down the self-harm route. Looks like they (OM) backed the losers (FoSB), and because of that, will themselves lose out with significantly reduced sales of papers. Fuckem

"The advice to approve also includes the agreement that the use of the land is for football/ community sports and leisure/ sports stadia ‘in perpetuity’, with limited ancillary commercial use."

Let's hope our owners are still willing to go ahead with this, as it appears most of the money making opportunities of Stratfield Brake have disappeared with the reduced land available at The Triangle.

As a slight point of balance, they did advertise the article on the front page and on a day when the mini plant got the news of such a huge investment, it could be argued that that is the bigger story.

I did mention that in an email to Andrew Colley…..of course I’m still waiting on a reply.

This was advertised on my village facebook for a family fun day at MK Dons, looking forward to when we can start doing this for the kids in our new ground.

Scrutiny in the morning
would it worth emailing the Overview and scrutiny committee members today?

their names are listed ( but not email addresses) in the meeting attendance section of the above doc link

the collective(?) email address presumably for the entire scrutiny committee is - scrutiny@oxfordshire.gov.uk

Chester V is ultra snakey ... hope you're right re PP, - I believe his partner is on CDC planning cabinet panel, and he's a reserve for said panel

their bias is well documented, however I'd not trust them to be honest about it
Well say the first planning permission was refused, the club & their lawyers would be on top of the fact someone publicly on record against the stadium build, that first decision would be rendered inconsequential as they have shown bias through KPC voting against the club. They’ve shown their hand. I can’t see them being anywhere near the planning decision, that’s why they want it delayed as long as possible

can anyone decipher what on earth this is about, please??
Given the people attending, the documents not released for public consumption and the regulation they quote as reason for not releasing them, I suspect this is to do with scrutinising (or reviewing the scrutiny performed by their officers) the commercial elements of any potential sale and the club’s financial planning/commitments for the proposal.
