12 months left on his deal, in the 4th division and not proven to score more than 15 a season in Lg1…

£500k is the absolute top end valuation for Mo Eisa.
It becomes a question of how much they want promotion and whether it's worth that. In 12 months time he could be negotiating a new deal with a league 1 club after promotion. They are known for getting max value for their sales.

Am I the only one who would be very happy enough if nothing happened between now and deadline? The desperation of the last few windows has created an illusion that if we're not sealing deals at the very last moment it's been poor. I'd be very confident with the squad we've got going into January - use the sorts of money spoken about to tighten up gaps then would be my preference.

It wouldn't be a disaster but would leave us exposed.

Would be fine as long as Harris didn't pick up an injury but if he did or one of the other front players then we would be very light on options.

Think you’d be one of not many!

With the start we’ve had, with the league not feeling as strong as recent seasons I think now is the time to sensibly push the boat out.

Defo need another genuine 1st teamed who could slit in across the front 3. I reckon we’ll end up with 2 incomings..

I do like the idea of being 'very happy enough'

It's not like the last few years in that we're going into Deadline Day this year not needing much.

The squad looks great - but there is an issue with depth and experience in forward positions. Should any one of Harris, Bodin or Goodrham get badly hurt on Saturday, we'd suddenly be looking pretty thin. If it was Harris - we'd then be relying on Perkins or GOD leading the line for four months; if it was Bodin or Goodrham then we'd be playing Mills every week and/or praying that we can get something out of Murphy.

One more forward - ideally a left-sided player who can play up front as needed - and we're insulated from a couple of injuries suddenly derailing our season.

I assume we can still bring in free agents and out of contract players after this deadline so its not the end of the world....?

Looking forward to seeing who LM and EW have got lined up though, I'd be happy with either Marriott or Eisa, but I suspect that it may be a left field name that no one has mentioned.....might shut up some of the posters on here who start rumours for attention or claim to be 'ITK'!

We will 100% make a least one signing before the end of transfer deadline day.

I’ve no doubt the preference is for a forward with a reasonable level of league experience, but if the dominoes don’t fall correctly and a deal can’t be done, then the fallback will be a youngster on loan from a higher division. It might even be both….

Keep calm everyone,

“Get something out of Murphy”?!
Oh, for Goodness Sake. Can’t people just admit that, after months and months of absolute cr*p from the man, he IS NOT going to be the answer.
He doesn’t want to make more than a minimal effort, is not motivated, doesn’t contribute … and is being paid a fortune to do that. SURELY we’ve had enough now of this waster?
He can’t be good for the morale of the rest of the squad- bin him down to train with the youngsters until he decides to make at least SOME form of effort or show some sort of desire.
I’ve really lost patience with him and am amazed that some people still hope he will come good. (When? Tomorrow? Next month? February?)

Yes

Murphy

Had hoped he was for turning but after last Saturday not convinced

During the half time warm up with all the subs, he spent most of the time just talking to Eastwood

Does that indicate a player desperate to prove his worth.

Or am I misreading his demeanour

That is why I used the word 'pray'. Because it is prayer now with Murphy, not expectation.......

I'm pretty sure that Ryan Lowe tried the underlined tactic with him - didn't do any good either.

To be fair I think this was the point @tonyw was making, although you've been more forceful. I'm not sure any rational fan has any hope for him really despite putting in nearly 90 minutes of good performances over the entire course of last season.

It's also telling that he only made it onto the bench after Browne's injury and wasn't trusted to come on with the game in the balance, Manning preferring to bring a couple of teenagers in Mills and GOD on late on to turn and then hold the game. It'll be interesting to see if he even makes the bench this week as Perkins will surely be in the squad, I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't.
