Option addedTo whoever raises the MoM voting list. Could add a "None of the above" next time
Could we? I just remember loads of people banging on about 'tippy tappy football' and saying he didn't have a clue. But you could see what Appleton was trying to do. I'm afraid I hadn't got a clue on Saturday what LM was trying to do. Apart from asking his players to pass the ball around as if it were a training session. I really hope I'm wrong, but I had vv bad vibes after Saturday.
Couldn’t agree more. It was not simply a case of a new team needing time to gel. Still, Tim will sort it out if he needs to…….Actually I'd go further. I'd say the Cambridge performance was at least as bad as anything we saw in the last few months of KR. It was almost Clotet-like. I don't think supporters are being disloyal/impatient at voicing huge concerns. I wasn't there tonight but Saturday was beyond pathetic. That's why so many people are raising huge red flags so early. I hope I'm wrong but honestly if we lose on Saturday, I'd pull the plug. There's an old saying in business. The mistake isn't in the mis-hire. It's not sorting out the mis-hire once you've identified your mistake. I really hope I'm wrong as LM seems a decent bloke (I really disliked KR). But these early signs are really not good at all.
We did better against Bristol City, at least.Could we? I just remember loads of people banging on about 'tippy tappy football' and saying he didn't have a clue.
Yeah but remember he left us so booooooooo to him."Let's not appoint a manager because we've had him before and he was incredible" remains one of the weirder commonly held beliefs
Did we?! I’m pretty sure it took until the new year for Appleton to really get the squad he wanted. But you could see what Appleton was trying to do. I don't see any change from KR to LM at the minute we can't defend and that's all to see and the pressing is so slow just hope the 1 or 2 that should be coming in b4 Saturday are an improvement on what we already got in the building if not we are in trouble with what we are watching at the minute we are always playing catch up when we shouldn't beYes let’s pay him off as well, after a couple of bad results.
Absolutely. Under Appleton, there was a shape to the team. You could at least see players knew what to do even if they weren't very good. Same with Wilder years before. There was nothing on Saturday. Zilch. Zero. It was just awful. Honestly, I'm normally pretty patient, but Saturday was appalling. Like I said, I really hope I'm wrong, but my gut feeling is that LM is the wrong hire.Could we? I just remember loads of people banging on about 'tippy tappy football' and saying he didn't have a clue.
Mathematically, no, obviously. But for the psychology of the dressing room, the club and the fan opinion of Manning that is starting to brew, I would say yes. A win would just settle things down because he’s 12 competitive games in now and it’s becoming a bit of a chore to find positives - would you agree? Is it a must win already?
It’s safe to say the defence have not started well as expected and I agree with @WuTang on twitter and look to splash out on a full back and loan a striker.
Just said on talkSPORT that we look good going forward but very shaky at the back.
12 games but 10 of them with another manager’s squad and 2 with a whole new team including players that aren’t his type of players.Mathematically, no, obviously. Top 6 ambitions look a bit of an embarrassing shout right now. We need to slow ourselves down and focus on actually being competitive within games because there is a catalogue of problems in the team and I just can’t see who we’ll beat! Inevitably we’ll beat someone but who? When? We make goal scoring look over complicated and defending look impossible.
I don’t like our shape at all. I haven’t from the minute he walked in but I understood why we went in this direction and it rather fortunately yielded enough points to stay up - somehow. But I can’t quite understand why we haven’t made more effort to get in to the shape that put him on the map as a manager. Bizarre.
That is some indictment of Stevens! And if so, you have to question our recruitment team and whoever signed him off as someone we wanted in the team.If I were forced to choose I would select Long over Stevens any time. But that's not saying too much.
He isn’t that type of manager. He is emotional like Robinson was. He will give them the same amount of time win or lose but if need be he will give them a rocket the next day or the following one. He will make it known when he isn’t happy but in an interview he always stays quite calm and measured.Clearly Manning hasn’t launched into them for that awful showing. He needs to be a manager and show that’s unacceptable not ‘take the positives’ what positives? Awful interview
