Has a manager ever been sacked in pre-season before? Ainsworth could be a rare case. Spoke to a few QPR fans who weren't best pleased with how things were going before the game and I'm guessing there were even more sour before the end:ROFLMAO:

Yeah, he won't last the season. He doesn't have the support of the fans nor the dressing room.

Good performance but I worry about the absolute insistence on playing out from the back. Against a coherent team playing for their manager traps can easily be set and we'll get picked off easily. I hope it wrong but I'm not sure league 1 players are good enough to pull this tactic off. Its the trend in football currently and its a bit disappointing Manning is blindly following a trend. I think it'll cost us more goals than we'll score from doing it.

As I say, I hope I'm wrong.

Just got back. That was a weird sort of match. The old cliche a game of two halves definitely fitted this one.

First half both sides played reasonable passing moves towards the opposite end. Until the final pass when all went tits up. The one occasion when it didn't United scored.

The second half was a one sided as you can get. QPR still did a lot of midfield passing with no end product. Whereas United suddenly found that killer pass and ran riot.

If that was the regular QPR first team then god help them.

Have to say the defensive side of the team really impressed me. Solid, compact and with ability to stifle any opposition attack.

Talk about glass half empty….
I trust Manning, he’s got us playing with confidence, style and on the front foot. Sure we’ll get turned over once or twice a game like we did today, by a Championship side, and we know when to go long, as we did at the end of the first half a few times, but to say he’s ‘blindly following a trend’ is a bit disrespectful.

He had MK third in the league playing from the back like we will do.
Blindly following the trend seems a bit OTT?

There are so far at least 5 points I'd like to discuss in detail with a couple of QPR supporters I play football with many thanks. Oh, any observations about Mr Ainsworth's attire, demeanour and approach will be welcomed as well.
A departure from the norm: trackies instead of distressed leather jacket/trouser combo with retro Adidas in place of cowboy boots. Hair worn loose just below the shoulder, well-washed to a straw-like consistency caught beautifully by the breeze with each shake of the head as we slotted another past their hapless defence.

Dear me Mr That, this is the business indeed (y)

Rodrigues is going to be key for us this season. You just know he could be having a bad game, but you won’t want him to come off because he finds a couple of yards of space and he’ll split the defence with one ball. I can’t remember the last time we had a player with his playmaking ability. He’s exactly what we missed last season.

I know it’s early days and we haven’t kicked a ball in a competitive game but he should comfortably get 15-20 goal contributions.

Sacked in the morning 🤞

My brother reckons he showers at half time. A big shout, but can’t say I agree.

If we play like we did today and against Swansea not many teams in this league will cope with us there will be games where we do get beat but I think we will give a few teams abit of a hiding...

As for today oh my isn't it nice to play against a Gareth ainsworth team and not just beat them but rip them to shreds 😂😂

Just in, first 20/25 mins we struggled to get out of our half but dealt with everything.
Great goal by Browne which certainly spurred us on.
2nd half complete control some lovely moves a well taken goal by Harris.
Good header by Thorniley missed the Mills goal coming back from the loo.
Overall very impressive performance a striker and a LB and we will be ready
Can’t wait until next Saturday COYY

Well Manning did well playing that way with MK Dons.

Ipswich and Plymouth must be happy they blindly followed the trend

Nice afternoons entertainment. Even ‘thin bloke’ was happy with that performance.

TBF the only disappointment about todays game was the abysmal performance of the Jim Smith stand residents.😉
Not once did I hear chants of ‘where’s your caravan?’ Or …’SSSSsacked in the morning, You're getting sacked in the morning!’ Not once! Very poor.

Finally, can I assume that Gareth has yet to impose his style on QPR? There was little of his usual anti-football stuff, in fact, his team played very little football at all.

…and to the bloke on my right today who, in the first half, kept saying “Have they learnt nothing from last season?” (I assume he was on about sideways an backwards passing) I think the second half showed they have.

However….it’s a different game next Saturday. COYYs!
