Given the amount we're paying him, 25-30 involvements in goals (i.e. goals + assists) should be the absolute minimum expectation. He's paid like one of the best players in the division - the expectation should be that he's playing like one.

As it was, his season's contribution was three assists - one against Charlton, two against Cheltenham. He doesn't offer you anything defensively, so his only contribution is making or scoring goals.

Now he's so far in arrears, the only way his wage becomes an "absolute steal" is if he tears up the division like noone has done before. I'm thinking 20 goals + 20 assists sort of territory, leading us to promotion. I won't be holding my breath.

I'll be cheering him on next season as long as he's putting the effort in. But even if he has a decent-to-good season next year, he's still been a massive waste of money for the club.
Spot on.

Seeing as (unsurprisingly) we’re struggling to shift Yanic or Murphy, there might be more of a need for a forward who can play wider and more centrally. Joseph or Burey could perhaps cover a first choice striker.

Or have they given him a proper fitness test and found something they don’t like.
Wish we had Bolton‘s fitness specialists here last season they would have saved us thousands on our wage bill. Or maybe that’s being unkind maybe our fitness team did have concerns but we’re overuled

Yes I'm sure it was the latter.

Can you post a list of clubs that have already completed their transfer business?
Based upon your transfer comments last summer and other transfer windows, I don’t think you can claim to be an expert in this field.

I remember you saying the same this time last year, and we all know how that ended, so hoping you might be a bit closer this time around, but that shouldn’t be too difficult.

From the brief bits I've seen, the suggestion is it was down to the transfer fee/terms and how they were to be paid. They have hit snags on other transfers as well including Aussie Keanu Baccus from St Mirren today.

Whilst I know battering our resident breadcrumbed egg is the fashion on here after last season, I don't think he's at all wrong to question people being overtly negative about our window so far.

Only two clubs (Pompey & Stevenage) have signed more players than us, and 19 teams have signed less players than us. We've signed a Championship quality CB, one of the brightest young GK talents in the country, and made arguably one of the best L1 signings of the window so far in Ruben Rodrigues. Are there still gaps? Yes, but it's not even July ffs. The window has been open for 2 weeks, and we're still over 5 weeks from the season opener.

I know we're generally a moody bunch on here, but it's been a damn good window so far, and the names we're linked with and the speed and efficiency of which we're completing transfers is reason to be optimistic for once!

We aren’t trying to get rid of Murphy, nor are we desperate to get rid of Yanic but if the deal is right for all party’s he will move on.

Despite one key aspect being evidently wrong?

At 250-300k Swansea would laugh in the face of any bids. They have no need to sell and could get similar money on loan fees alone for the next two years with the chance of him having a great season and his valuation going up.

But happy for you to believe what you've been told.
So why don't we bring him in on loan again?

Since his injury (unfortunate for him) Gorrin seems to have gone from not good enough for a top half L1 team to L1’s version of the messiah/Gundogan! Yes he gave his all, but always went sideways, struggled to create anything or even pass to a player 10m in front of him. His last contract extension was Robinson at best being kind (can argue merits or otherwise of this)! Short memories some people on here - if he can stay fit, he needs to find a L2 side and good luck to him if he does.

Kyle Joseph has 2 years left on his contract and there's absolutely no way we would get him for half a million pound less than we bid for him 5 months ago!

Other than that, it sounds like a great rumour!
But tbf I would only pay what the rumour is and let us develop him give the ducks a 15% sell in then jobs a good un
