Regarding getting to the game I wonder how many more people have to drive to Grenoble Road because of where it’s situated.
My bet is there are double the amount compared to when we were at the Manor.
If you look at the the London clubs hardly anyone drives because of the various transport links and the cost.
Its all about public transport, improve that and you solve the problem

I'm not sure I agree to be honest. Large parts of Oxfordshire doesn't have easy access to the rail network (for example, for me to get the train I'd have to drive 10-15 mins to the nearest train station, park, then get the train when Kidlington is a 20 odd min drive from me). You also can't offer a special bus service from everywhere, and most people don't want to be travelling for longer and making multiple changes (which from most of Oxfordshire you'd have to).

Regardless of availability of it though, many won't want to use it as it takes away the freedom of arriving/leaving when you want. Where I live currently has a special service on Saturday's to the Kassam, yet I don't use it because it doesn't get me to the ground when I want to get there.

I think what we'll see is the park and rides absolutely packed with most in there leaving at the same time, causing a similar car park issue to what we see at the Kassam.

You're right that the stadium will clear quickly, but the areas around the stadium (train station, bus stops, P&R's)? Not so much!
However, these cars would be split between two park and ride car parks so spreading the volume of traffic to a certain degree. The one road fir all cars in/out of the Kassam is part of the current traffic problem.

As a Thame resident I would get the 280 to the station and train straight to Parkway. Easy peasy.

Would be even better if we had a cycle route between the station and town, sadly we're not as privileged as our Kidlington and cutteslowe counterparts, there's not even a path.

I can't drive (born n raised central London), if we played near a train station I'd go to lots more games... it's a nightmare at the moment.

coming from north wales I would get the train down since it’s right by the stadium. I also stay down a fair few times so would make use of the hotel at the ground with it easier to go into the city centre on the train than it is now if I stay by the Kassam. If driving down then I would use pear tree park and ride and will no doubt be quicker to get back on the M40 than it is at the moment which can take up to 40 minutes to an hour to get onto the M40 after attending a game at the Kassam.

So in the new Stadium you either drive 15 mins ,take train 25 to Oxford change and another 10 mins .
I guess driving is 40 mins at present for you ?
Not too bad and much greener
Driving to Kassam takes about 30mins on a Saturday. Via public transport would take about 1.30-1.40hrs.

To drive to location of the triangle would take me anywhere between 20-25mins. Public transport to the same spot would currently take me 50mins.

Sounds to me that Water Eaton park & ride would be perfect. Easy access and egress, lots of space and a shuttle service to the stadium. (Or, you could take the 5 minute walk)

Reading through your comments, I guess the upside of the stadium relocation for people like yourself (from a transport perspective) should be easier entry and exit from the site. The issues of the Kassam where just about everybody comes in via car will be mitigated for a large number of fans, and the site is set up much better to facilitate the flow of traffic.

If we combine this with the plans to have more entertainment venues around the stadium you'll most likely see arrival and departure times spread over a much longer time than at the current stadium as well.

I just can't see the problems we have currently with traffic moving with us, the new stadium will be on a much better road system than the current one.

I am sure that the new stadium will not be perfect for everybody.
It seems highly likely that a significant number of supporters that currently travel to the Kassam by car ( no choice), will go to the Triangle by train and bus ( far, far more choice). This is surely a good thing ( although the Kidlington Green's will argue that car travel to the Kassam is better)

Don't forget to add on the time it takes you to get out of the car park. As said above, some people will still have to drive, but the aim will be to minimize this - in fact, minimizing it could be essential to get planning permission.

Carterton. Like to go early, if not using car, its S1 to Station then service 1or 5 or walk through town get 3A, only applies for a Saturday though, otherwise drive or OX3 Special for midweek games.
A lot of faffing when you can just drive straight to the stadium!
