Could we not employ him as chairman or CEO? After a month on that course he will already be more qualified than who we currently have.
A month? The fifteen minute intro should do the trick.

He already knows what a Sporting Director is, so he might not even need that.

This is the exact point I was trying to make. Paying Baldock 3/4k per week when he isn't playing or even likely to is a complete waste of money. Pay him up and get somebody else in.
You are still missing the point.
Our budget is not an endless pot of money.
Please read this carefully and try and understand.

You have a squad of players, you have a budget of x amount
You pay Baldock off with 150/200 k we are now down that amount on the budget so we can’t spend it on extra players.

Is that clear enough

Not quite a fair comparison though, they started at a lower level but let's remember McNally is on loan because he couldn't get a sniff of a game at a Championship team for the first six months of the season, albeit a very good one. By the time they were McNallys age Stones had played 100 odd Premier League games and 20 or so times for England and moved for 50m. Gomez went to Liverpool as a teenager and had a good handful of England caps, Holding was established at Arsenal too.

Maguire is the most similar in terms of career path but even he had played a good amount of Premier League games by this point in his career. I'd love to see him succeed and think he's got a shot of spending a chunk of his career in the top division but I think talk of playing for a top 6 team is very fanciful.
True, but don't forget that McNally was a full-time student, playing semi-pro, until he was 20/21

I wonder if we could give him a coaching role now that LBS has moved on so that he’s off of the player budget?

We will end with a very large coaching staff if that is our way of solving the mess that Robinsons left behind.

All this talk of budget, paying off player's contracts etc. it all comes to nothing when the CEO and Chairman are telling their employers that the squad already has 20 pro's on the books and we don't need to do much (if any) recruiting.
It's almost as if we have gone from a head coach (KR) running the whole show to Manning having no say whatsoever. The recruitment team (the much lauded by the chuckle brothers, team) has to work with chains holding them back.
If the owners are still serious about top 30 (which looks to be becoming a big joke) then they need to unshackle the recruitment, listen to the advice from those who know what they are talking about and, accept that through their ignoring all the signs, things are going to cost money to put right.

If what they want is far less than that, then we are really in the brown stuff.

Now is the time for a real Fans Forum with owners present.

I'm looking forward to see how Manning goes about his transfer business. I just hope he is realistic in his communication with the media and we don't get the hype - and the deflation - that seemed to blight Robinson's transfer approach. I'd much rather there was no speculation and a signing gets announced only when it's formally done - a bit like it was years ago. Much more exciting that way too although, in this day and age of social media, it is probably difficult not to know anything about a signing in advance.

Yes where have you read this ? They admitted it was a terrible couple of transfer windows ,there will certainly be more players moving out and much better ones coming in .They want to be near the top of the table
