Manning’s philosophy is to play out from the back though so that’s why I think we need a better keeper than Eastwood.
It is also a bit unrealistic to have a squad of 23 players who will all play 40 games but Bodin has played 38 games for us this season..
Well if we are playing like this then we need a completely different TYPE of GK.
We also need 2 mobile fullbacks who can drive us thru to the middle 3rd of the pitch.
The essence of what im saying is that we need robust and physical players. I am surprised that Bodin played that many games this season. My bad.

McConville & Hamilton at Accy are two I’d be interested in. With their relegation pending, we may be able to pick them up relatively cheaply. I’ve been impressed with both.

Our squad overall, needs the following:

- Ball playing GK (although Eastwood has been excellent for the last couple of months)
- LB
- RB
- CDM
- 2 x wingers/inverted forwards with pace
- 2 x CF (and retain Taylor on reduced terms.

I wouldn't mind keeping Taylor he could do the role baldock was hoped to do but would Taylor be happy with that one thing is for certain we need two goal scoring strikers

I've heard he wants to come back and be part of it next season now the clown isn't in charge. Would be great to have him as 3rd striker with O'donkor as 4th striker. 2 proven strikers also to sign to make us even stronger.
That was my thinking him as 3rd donks as 4th and two goal scorers what a difference that would be to this season

Always liked the look of Hamilton has age on his side as well being only 24.

He has scored 44 goals in 155 games since leaving us which is 1 in 3.5 games. We can do better than Sam Smith.

Maybe we can but it’s not just his goals, his whole performance against us was superb. Movement was exceptional and I’d go so far as to say he bullied our defence for much of that game. You’re right that 1 in 3.5 isn’t an outstanding return but it’s a healthy one if you possess all the other attributes of a good striker. Admittedly I‘m only going on that performance I saw and his goal record in the past season or two for a side towards the lower end of L1.

Interested to see if manning goes for any of his old 'players' at mk dons. Have any of their decent players from last season struggled at higher clubs?

With safety now secured, it’s rather exciting to see which way Manning tries to take us will he revert to his previous 3-5-2 or stick with a similar structure to what he has played so far this season. Either way just refreshing to go into a window with a bit of excitement knowing you won’t hear the same rubbish week after week.

Harvey knibbs, another very good player who’s OOC in the summer. Plymouth tried to get him in January so expect them to probably snap him up now.

I would love Mo Eisa. His pace and movement would thrive in our way of playing.

His goal yesterday was a peach. They probably would of stayed up comfortably if he didn't miss so many games with his injury.

Removed players not definitely contracted for next season.

Looking at the list, we need to either offer new contracts, or cash in on a few players.
McGuane being the highest priority.

Sadly time for Baldock to retire.

If we can off-load Henry, Mufni and Yanic, Murphy too, but think we're stuck with him.
Henry hasn't been the same last couple of seasons, Yanic hasn't set the world alight and Murphy has only started to play the last few games.
Mufni? No idea.
Willing to give Seddon a pre-season under Manning, think there's a good wingback in there somewhere, if only a squad player.

Do all that, and there's space for 8 players to come into the squad.

Murphy may have only started to play in the last few games, but has looked an excellent player when he has. If Manning has got him playing like thar after a few weeks then hopefully a full preseason will get him ready to play a full role next season.

Looking to get rid of him is bizarre!!

Certainly need to move away from prolonged contracts to aging players who are coming down the other side of the age curve.

With our reported transfer strategy and Manning's past, I suspect we will see a lowering of the squad age most probably picking up players from Ireland, PL2 squads and young players that have decent minute contributions in League One/Two (Jensen Weird, Marc Leonard, Cian Hayes etc).

Spotting decent players is relatively straight forward, finding players that actually fit our game model and provide what Manning requires whilst giving them a development path is the key.
