You would keep Yanic?! For me he has been the biggest disappointment. We also can’t have 3 keepers when none of them are good enough for 1st choice.
I still say we move Findlay on as Manning wants us to play out from the back and he isn’t good enough on the ball.
I’d also potentially keep Bodin as a squad player if the wage is right as you do still need players like him.
I think Yanic will willingly leave, why sit around in Bicester when you could be in Amsterdam or wherever? Bodin and Henry will contribute if fit, which Bodin largely has been. Baldock will retire. Findlay might well get snapped up by a Scottish club but I like having him as an option. I’d be surprised if Cam left, unless he doesn’t like Manning - he’s had that chance.

The Ipswich released/available for transfer list might be worth a look. They signed loads of quality last summer and I’d think they will back their manager to have a right go in the Championship so will probably make a few very decent players available at L1 level.

My squad for next season looks like this, assuming that at least one goalkeeper moves on and Baldock retires.

The absolute minimum that we need is LB RB CDM and 2 strikers. But assuming that they are all over 21 years old, we would still have 4 additional squad places to fill even if we keep Seddon and Henry involved.

We need to utilise the loan market better, Joseph and Bate both really bought into the club even if they suffered at times (like everyone else). Smith and Konate, no thanks!! But 5/6 good loanees and 5/6 permanent signings and we've got the makings of a top 10 squad, even if top 6 might be a little optimistic after this season.

I wonder if we might be in for Joseph. A few weeks ago it’d have been an emphatic no thanks from me but he’s put in some of his best performances under Manning. He couldn’t be relied upon for the goals but would chip in with 10-12 over a season and his effort and willingness is there for all to see.

Out of that I would get rid of Seddon, Findlay, Henry and Wildschut and also have GOD plus 3 as I feel he will very much be a squad player. I’d also have McGinty plus 1.

I'm not sure Brannagan is going to stay under Manning
And what brings you to that conclusion? Who else is going to pay him the same wage as what we do after this season? Also CB is very settled in the area and loves his life away from football with the fishing in the area.
As I said before, he has missed his big move now so I don’t actually see many options appealing to him.

His big move that would have seen him land right back here in L1 !!!

Some dumb fuckers are contracted to pay you silly money.

Bodin and Henry will contribute if fit, which Bodin largely has been.

Henry's finished, Bodin's got 12 matches in him max.

Baldock will retire.

he retired last August.

For what?

I’d be surprised if Cam left, unless he doesn’t like Manning - he’s had that chance.

Cameron blew his future when he took the mad guy's offer. He needs to go somewhere to establish himself as a footballer or accept a steady decline. Blackpool?

I wouldn't disagree with much of that, although I've never been that impressed with McGinty and Easty has barely made a mistake since Manning arrived (the odd dodgy clearance against Sheff Wed aside!)

To play the way Manning wants to then we need a keeper better with the ball at his feet that Easty so that’s why I think he will look to bring in a new number 1.

We need at least 2 fit and healthy new speedy wide players. Probably the main ingredients imo to why we struggled so badly this season. Not convinced at all by Murphy either so hoping he moves on.

If the option is someone like the supposed ball playing keeper Cheltenham had then I think I’d rather keep Eastwood.

Jack Stevens signed a new contract until 2025 I think when he went to Port Vale on loan.

Two new strikers
2 new wing backs
And a cdm

5 new signings

Sell
Findlay seddon wildschut taylor

In my head, I've got five tiers of players:

Tier 1 - Senior pros that I would keep for 2023/24:
Eastwood, Long, Moore, Brown, Brannagan, McGuane, Bodin & Browne

Tier 2 - Senior pros that I would hope to move on, and try to sign better (or at least better value) replacements if possible:
Seddon, Stevens, Henry, Findlay, Wildschut, Baldock & Murphy
(this list is in approximate order of how easy I think it will be to move them on. None of them are so irredeemable, however, that I would want to burn money paying off their contracts. If you can't move them on, you keep them and use them).

Tier 3 - OOC and loanees that won't be back next year:
Fleming, Smith, Konate, Taylor, Anderson, Gorrin, Jones, Davis

Tier 4 - Loanees that I would bring back again (if possible, without breaking the bank):
Bate (fat chance), Joseph

Tier 5 - Yoof:
McGinty, Negru, Golding, Johnson, Smyth, Goodrham and GOD

Think that captures everyone?
How many we then sign depends on how many of those Tier 2 players we can shift one way or another.
If we can't find a new home for any of them, and Joseph does stay, we may only be looking at half a dozen newcomers. But if most of them go and Swansea price us out of Joseph, it could be as many as 12-14 new players.
