Ex-Staff Liam Manning

Honestly wasn't sure about him, but he made us hard to beat and when it come to it, we scored the goals required for us to actually win some games of football. Here's hoping he gets plenty of financial support this summer to make the required changes.

Hopefully next season, we can benefit a little bit from team’s underestimating us because of this season.

In my opinion, he has saved the club. Relegation would have meant less money everywhere. Less season tickets, less away fans, less pay on the day fans, less chance of picking up Liam’s preferred players, basically a s**t show thanks to Robinson.
I seriously think the board may also have lost interest.
We now have the chance to build with a young, intelligent, coherent, knowledgeable and likeable manager.
Thank god the board got rid of that whining, thick, sack of scouce shite.

Liam has achieved the minimum expected of him, but there's a lot to be positive about the way he has done it.

He has focused on doing the simple things better and we now have a defence that looks good at being able to defend, wingers who have the confidence to beat players and get the ball in early, and forwards who (this week) look like scoring at will.

We're by far from the finished article, but if we added sensibly to what is already here then there's no reason why we can't at least hold our own next season, even if it takes a couple of transfer windows before we can really consider challenging for promotion.

I don’t think this is the concern - the board is simply incompetent, that’s the problem. They’ve got a new lead singer now so Tim can go back to being the drummer and Grant can continue being stage crew. A good starting point would be an apology to the fans and a thank you to the man who’s probably secured them all a reprieve. Then we can dissect the sh*t out of what’s just happened and learn some lessons.

The owners will remain committed because from my loose understanding of the stadium plans, it will ‘give out’ for as long as there is Oxford United and the two go hand in hand. Plus we have very little evidence to suggest they’re turning their backs - it isn’t just the stadium they funded. But they need to review their selection of people immediately and get Tim Williams as far away from football matters as possible.

I wanted Appleton. But very happy to be proved wrong. I was five rows behind LM & his team (with a mate who's a FGR ST holder). Really interesting. He's actually very vocal, but it's all about the game. Zero hassling of the officials. Players obviously listen to him, and once or twice came over and listened to his instructions. Really good body language. Talking to his assistant non stop, as well as with the other coaching staff. Players obviously like him. In contrast, my mate said that KR last season spent the game screaming and shouting at his players. Plus non stop swearing at officials. Very impressed with LM. He has absolutely saved us from certain relegation.

He really has we could of unearthed a gem. Let's hope so it's a patient style and even Findley was getting forward with 6 really good signings we could be very good.It was interesting when Murphy went off how the players applauded him .So much more of a team feeling. I know it was only Forrest Green but it was solid. And I don't think we will see the Robinson lazy transfer market like last year. I think we can all be abit more excited about our future well done from the Board Manager Players Staff and us we are a team.

I believe we have a manager who is going to take us into the championship.
Maybe not next season, but then the next one.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I can understand Liam whenever he says anything.

Have we signed anybody yet?

LM definitely seems to have brought a togetherness back amongst players and fans I think. Let’s hope he is backed in the summer

Job done.
Well done LM.
Now to get a good squad together and challenge next season. He has impressed so far and the huge turnaround in the goals ( not) conceded has been hugely impressive

Where I’ve been particularly impressed with Manning is the way he’s tightened us up. When you think of his free flowing MK side and his West Ham connection there’s an obvious thought process that he‘s going to produce easy on the eye teams who might lack a bit of robustness. Not a chance though, we’ve looked very solid for a team in the bottom six.

Moore has been a colossus since Manning arrived, Findlay in his best form since joining the club and with Long, Brown and Eastwood all performing well we’ve had a really settled defence and that has been key in giving us a base for putting the icing on the cake with these last two performances.

Moore has been a colossus since Manning arrived,

Christ, Dick! He's actually moved since Manning took over and dominated Cheltenham's attack by the unprecedented (for him) twin skills of movement and anticipation. We won't play more than a couple of totally uninterested teams for ages so he's ba k to a colossus next term.

I really hope Manning can ship him out to sone dismal League 2 strugglers whose criterion is height and standing up.

That’s harsh. If the idea is to keep Findlay and replace Moore then it better be someone who can win headers because that’s the weakest part of Findlay’s game and the strongest part of Moore‘s game. I don’t think Cairon Brown is great aerially either.

Who wants to keep Finlay?

I've watched Moore trail into the box behind enough strikers to see he's a perennial fifth place bet in the Grand National.
