Is it “weird” that Karl Robinson keeps talking about Oxford United, let alone in the national media?

Just asking because apparently it’s strange and obsessive for anybody to mention him on here, so I assume it must be equally odd that he won’t shut up about the club.

There are lessons to be learnt. Some people appear to have no concept of the damage this man has done to OUFC.

Let's turn this on it's head. When he goes away and stops milking his time with OUFC, then, maybe, we can close this thread. While he is given a vehicle from which to spout his nonsense then we need to keep reminding everyone of what he did. Right now, he is the darling of all those who want a story with a personal side and he loves it, he milks it, he revels in the media attention. He has no shame.

I really don’t see what the issue is… it’s just a point of discussion. If you don’t want to discuss it, stick to the threads that aren’t about him? It’s a choice to click on it, read it and/or contribute to it. If you’re not interested, ignore it. That’s fine. I’m personally interested.

There’s a separate thread for Liam. This is the thread for Karl, which you and some others want shut down because for some reason you’re incapable of ignoring it. I don’t like Wagamama, so I just don’t go there. I don’t show up at my nearest branch and start screaming about how it should close down because I don’t like the menu.

There are plenty of threads on this forum about things I don’t like or have no interest in, or where the general consensus goes against my personal opinion or beliefs. I just don’t read them or engage with them. I would never dream of demanding any of them be shut down purely because I don’t agree with a few people. If someone overstepped the mark I would be all for them being advised to rethink their tone or how they speak to people, but that’s a million miles from shutting the conversation down.

Anyway. If Karl Robinson is continuing to speak to the national press about Oxford United, then fans of Oxford United are well within their rights to talk about him.

Do you know, for a long time, I thought Wagamama was some sort of shop in competition with Mothercare. And then, one day, I looked through the window and saw people eating! Came as a shock, really.

I do not know uou, but I do know that you are extremely passionate about Oxford United.
I also get the impression that you have absolutely no respect for KR and as such have absolutely no time for anything he has to say.
Others though,may still be curious about what made him tick, or not , as the case may be .
They like you,can continue to read or ignore this thread and over time it will continue or die a natural death .
So just ignore it .

How dare you. He put Oxford United back on the map. He said so himself, on the latest EFL podcast. The man took us from 16th in League One to 17th in League One, and falling rapidly, in just under half a decade.

I think he’s got huge reputation damage to repair. Mates of mine who support other clubs refer to Karl as ‘that bloke who plays really decent football’… Well, there’s compelling evidence against that and if he loses that, what’s left? You’re only as good as your last season in this game.

No player has progressed under his management since McNally. 1 player in the best part of 2 seasons. But even that was not by design, McNally fell in to the team through a lack of proper squad depth.

His recruitment is enough to move on to the next candidate so I suspect his agent has thrusted him right in to the spotlight to be ‘honest, open Karl Robinson’ and erase this diabolical 12 months. Someone will fall for that. Reading are on the verge of sacking Paul Ince from what I hear. With all the connections, who’d be surprised?

Heck. Our super duper ambition overload club have just employed a manager on the basis he reached one playoff semi, despite the fact that the next year was an absolute disaster.

Robbo will walk into another job with several hundred thousand in his back pocket.

I understand people still dissecting what has been left behind but the fact some people who dislike him so much continue to want to talk about him just seems odd.

I also am not surprised he is now appearing on several podcasts and media things. He has shown with the podcast on the BBC last night he is happy to do that side of things along with the BT program he did a few years back. What did people expect? Him just to stay hidden away until a job turns up?!
