McGinty
Long Moore Brown
Anderson Mcguane Brannagan Fleming
Joseph Odonkor Browne
Difficult decision to drop Bate but I think Mcguane brings a little bit more athleticism and will allow us to play on the break a bit more.

I agree the team is crying out for wing backs. This seems to be Manning’s preferred formation, so won’t be surprised to see us line up like this.

A goalkeeper
Anderson Long Finlay (capt) Brown Fleming
Smyth
Wildschut Brannagan McGuane
Joseph

Bench: a goalkeeper, Moore, Johnson, Bate (if fit), Browne, Wildschut, Smith or O'Donkor

Goal is to stiffen the defence, hence Captain Oates on the bench means Long & Finlay can try to form a partnership. Wildschut above Browne mostly because I think he's more likely to support Anderson.

Big ask for Smyth, but none of the midfielders has a clue about defending (although Manning might give them their first defense training session for several seasons this week), so he's there to break stuff up. Johnson is specifically backup for Smyth. Frees Brannagan to get forward a bit, an area McGuane needs to set up to.

Joseph seems the least bad option up front, my opinion is O'Donkor is knackered. Be interesting to see Smith play in a real team.

Everyone,

We need to help our team get the 12/14 points that would guarantee survival.

Next week is absolutely massive against Morecambe! Our biggest game of the season by a distance and we need to get up there in numbers.

Do whatever it takes to try and make it. Imagine the boost the players and Manning will get if they walk out to 1500 yellows behind the goal.

If anyone has space in their cars or mini busses then if willing, share it on here so that fuel costs etc can be shared.
I'm travelling from Whitstable on the Friday, staying at my dad's near Shrewsbury, then we're both heading up to Morecambe Saturday morning.

I can't wait.

We've both got fkn loud singing voices.

We all need to get behind everyone in a yellow shirt and Manning.

It's the only way.

Looks like transport will be a nightmare plus Mother's Day and what looks like s**t weather will prevent a few from making a weekend of it.

Think 800+ will be a decent showing.
Yes, train strikes etc. As you said, 800 would be superb. I do know a few going who don't normally go to away games.

Morecambe play at home tomorrow I think so hopefully they will be a bit tired come the weekend. This will be a very tough game for us - they comfortably beat Burton 5-0 and Bristol Rovers 5-1 in a period where we struggled against such teams so they can't be underestimated and will likely see us as very beatable opposition too. We have really struggled against the weaker sides in this division this campaign and the Morecambe game earlier on in the season saw us scrape a fortunate draw coming from behind.

Hopefully Manning can really get us going else if Accrington win tomorrow and Morecambe pick up a couple of home wins this week, we may find ourselves in the relegation zone and at least 3pts off safety going into Cheltenham. After that it's the likes of Bolton, Barnsley, Portsmouth, Sheff Wed and co...

We’re not going to play like his MK team did, but hopefully Manning’s clear despite KR’s random team selection history that we have the players to suit his MK system. I’m sure he won’t play a back four with no full backs or holding mid anyway.

Should be Eastwood, a back 3, Anderson and Fleming wide. McGuane and Brannagan covering ground in midfield. A front three of a winger, wide forward and striker - so perhaps Browne, Joseph and Smith. That doesn’t look a League Two side to me.

I’d probably go;
3-5-2
Eastwood
Long, Moore, Brown
Anderson, McGuane, Smyth, Brannagan, Fleming
Smith & Wildschut

Subs; McGinty, Findlay, Browne, Goodrham, Bodin, O’Donkor, Joseph

Probably my choice too, though I'd put Joseph in there instead of Smith...nothing he has done so far indicates he is the striker we are looking for.

Yeah, I did think that, and also the possibility of putting Goodrham in the no. 10 role behind Wildschut as he’s probably the best technical player we have, with Wildschut pushing on their last man. Just need to be stronger down the spine (Brown, Moore, Long - Smyth, Brannagan, McGuane - Wildschut). Also with Anderson & Fleming acting as wingbacks, we’d have pace/width/outlets.

Thought Anderson was poor on Saturday, so think he’s better starting from deeper.

We attack as a team and defend as a team, from front to back.

I also thought O’Donkor played better on Saturday e.g. pushing on their last man, plus showed great strength, especially for someone his age, but just feel we should not keep expecting him to be the one we rely on.

Eastwood
Long Findlay Brown
Anderson McGuane Bate Fleming
Brannagan
Wildschut Joseph

If Bate isn't fit then I'd start Smyth.

Wildschut and Joseph are both physical. They want to make first contact and will work hard for the team, even if their touch may be a bit erratic. I'd have Brannagan further forward as he's probably the best finisher and one of McGuane or Smyth tasked with protecting the defence a bit. Long and Brown can both bring the ball out a bit and there is a decent balance there.

The last time we played a system like this, we beat Ipswich where Wildschut scored a fantastic goal. Why he hasn't been asked to play that role again is one of the many signs of how mad the last month of Robinson was.

Their squad is actually quite decent. Stockton is a good player on his day, Ripley a capable keeper, but on paper we have slightly the better team, although a demoaralised one.

Time for the players to start Manning up. (See what I did there?).

£10 off travel for those that wish to go via the LRC coaches.

Good gesture from the club.

(TICKETS FOR THE COACH MUST BE BOOKED BY MIDDAY ON WEDENSDAY).

Can’t make this one unfortunately but well done to all going, hope you can roar us on to a much needed win.

I’ve booked my train to Peterborough though, hopefully will be another good turn out there.

Liam Manning’s last two trips to Morecambe - both in 2022 - saw his team emerge 4-0 winners on both occasions.
MKD also defeated Morecambe 2-0 in the FA Cup this season at stadiumMK.

There's another train strike scheduled on the same day as Peterborough away - judging by your username, you'll be going back to the capital, so might need to get a little jog on to get the last train. It has been around 17:20 on strike days so far.

Also noticed it is Ticket only, with no tickets available on the day, they should have made that clearer.
